As soon as mommy released her control, accepted and surrendered that the birth will be sacred in all ways and either ways, you led the way . Thursday evening my muscus plug left my body, Friday at 14:10 my water broke and we drove into the hospital. Contractions started 14:30 and I felt your spirit wanting to come through so strongly. 14:45 opened up 3 centimeters, but you were still in breech, in a lotus positions inside of me ready to open up. Emergency c-section that not only cut my belly open, most amazingly it open up a whole new world. Hearing him bubbeling out and landing on my chest is a feeling I will never forget and a pure moment of bliss that no words can ever describe . Eu via os exames dando tudo certo, o tempo gestacional passava eu não piorava, eu tive uma gravidez tranquila, sempre fui disposta, via algumas grávidas no mesmo tempo gestacional que eu, reclamando de coisas que eu nem sonhava em sentir, passou rápido, foi lindo, a ansiedade tomou conta, eu só contava os dias pra minha Alice nascer e eu ver o rostinho dela e enfim tirar todo medo do coração, foi uma agonia, arruma quarto, compra enxoval, ajeita isso, ajeita aquilo, queria tudo perfeito para a chegada dela. Eu já tava no hospital quando o hospital ligou “ Amanda, venha dia 23 em jejum já para ter sua bebê, dai respondi, oxe, eu já tô aqui de mala e cuia kkkk “ fiquei logo no hospital, então o grande dia chegou, eu tava tranquila demais, nem me reconhecia, eu pensava “ era pra eu tá apavorada, cadê meus medos? “ aí, Jesus entrou na frente e o controle de tudo estava nas melhores mãos. Quando Alice nasceu foi como se todas as minhas partes fragmentadas decorrentes de momentos difíceis que vivi se juntassem, as feridas foram regeneraras e eu me tornei uma nova mulher, uma mulher que agora se tornou mãe e conheceu o amor incondicional ao segurar seu filho no colo pela primeira vez. Another TQ save. This case was sent to us from a colleague @stryker2020p . The patient punched a glass window and sustained a large laceration. Initially he presented to the ER and the physician tried to control bleeding with hemostats. This proved in effective. But luckily our colleague was present to quickly apply a tourniquet and then transport/transfer him to a local trauma center for surgical intervention. Tips: Hemostats work well for clamping vessels but it can be extremely difficult or impossible if you cannot adequately visualize the vessel. This requires you to have PROXIMAL control for arterial hemorrhage. You can have a tourniquet to control the hemorrhage or you can surgically expose the vessel more Proximal away from the area of trauma to have a clean field to work. This is usually the last thing I see when I leave. It’s that restorative four or five hour sleep that happens after labor. Mama is being taken care of and only gets up to use the bathroom. Quero apresentar pra vcs o Antônio, meu filho. Hoje ele está com quase 4 meses, mas nessa imagem ele está com pouco mais de 3. Agora as apostas são: vai ser a cara do pai ou da mãe? Sem dúvidas o acontecimento mais marcante na vida de um casal é quando eles se tornam país pela primeira vez. E para nós homens, especialmente, a ideia de ser pai nos enche de orgulho, principalmente se o filho for um menino. Mas é muito comum encontrar homens que sentem um certo medo, ou até desespero quando lhe perguntam sobre filhos. Ao contrário das mulheres, onde é mais fácil encontrar quem deseja muito ser mãe. Mas porque será que nós homens, em geral, temos mais medo de ter filhos que as mulheres? Acredito que esse medo ou desespero, seja porque não nos ensinaram a ser pais. Só nos ensinaram a sermos fortes e a pagar as contas. Dificilmente vemos homens que sabem qual o seu real papel na família. Também é difícil ver homens compartilhando entre si as experiências da paternidade. Quando nos reunimos, é só para falar de negócios, política e muitas besteiras. O que chamamos de “assuntos de homem”. Ainda vivemos os reflexos de uma geração onde o dever do homem era trabalhar para sustentar sua família e a educação dos filhos ficava à cargo da mulher. Nossa lei, por exemplo, garante uma licença-paternidade de apenas 20 dias, no máximo, enquanto que para as mães a licença é de 120 dias, podendo chegar a 180. É muito comum ver pais (jovens até) que entregam a maior parte das responsabilidades com os filhos para as mães. A educação dos filhos deve ser compartilhada entre o casal e cada um desempenha um papel diferente e complementar. Não estou falando de fazer dormir, dar banho, levar para a creche ou ensinar a tabuada. Esses são deveres e qualquer um pode fazer. O papel é individual e tem a ver com os valores que transmitimos para os nossos filhos. It’s been quite around here because I recently endured a miscarriage. I have thought long and hard about if I wanted to share this part of my story. I needed a few weeks to attempt to grieve. October is pregnancy and infant loss awareness month. We are still nagivagating through. However, I wanted to honor our baby and bring awareness for all the women and families who suffer from this. After treatmeant for AML-APL leukemia I was told I most likely would not have more children. We have pursued some other options and every other option has been a, “no.” I don’t share every detail but I have shared a lot because AWARENESS is SO important! I now know the agony of losing a baby. I’m so so sorry for anyone who has endured the phyiscal and emotional pain and trauma caused by this. Or any type of infertility! Or any type of longing for something or missing someone. It has affected me in ways I could have never imagined and as you know we have been through a lot. This is a different pain. Leukemia is traumatizing, any life altering illness is. This is a different traumatizing! It’s not one and done after a few days or weeks. Cancer isn’t ether but it’s another hard I’m trying to learn to live with. I’ve needed time to physically go through it because the phyiscal effects are painful. However the emotional part is worse. I have shared my thyroid has had issues since I finished chemo. I didn’t realize how important normal range thyroid levels are crucial to how our the human bodies function. Especially how even more critical/life threatening it is for a healthy pregnancy. So once I learned I was pregnant my hematologist also ordered remission labs and thyroid labs and learned my thyroid had plummeted. I had emergency thyroid care and medications, adjustments to medications dosages, plus the fluctuation of hormonal levels due to being pregnant and then then going through a miscarriage. We were so HAPPY the past few months. We almost made it to 11 weeks. I’ve been living in my bedroom now for an uncertain number of days trying to make sense of these heavenly moments; grasping onto them like sand running through my hands. Through the blur of it all, I am practicing patience and compassion for myself, for my older son Hudson adjusting to the change, and learning to let go of everything out of my control. No matter how hard the journey gets, I feel complete knowing that these twins chose me to be their mommy. Every passing hour we are growing and learning together. Every feed is a little more successful than the last because we are embracing flexibility. #fedisbest The teamwork I’ve established with their daddy has given me the needed confidence to press on the unpredictable road ahead. It’s been scary and so very real with emotions running all over the place. My life is forever changed, and I’m navigating a very liberating acceptance with that. The past years have been lets say - challenging. Beautiful, wonderful, amazing - but challenging. Early 2017 I became Lilous co-parent - she was only 9 months old. So I had to learn quick, find a new home after living with my mom for a few months and basically restart life as I knew it. Getting through that phase changed me as a man. I felt like this was the life that was written for me forever. I couldnt imagine a life with a new partner (lord knows I tried). I was working every minute Lilou wasnt with me and spent every minute with her when she was. There was basically zero space left for me to develop a relationship... Plot twist. The universe decided to give me what I asked for and since that day - its been a dream. Having a new addition to this little family of 2, Milou has been a significant change in our lives. The list of requirements was long for the right person in my life. Because it demanded alot of patience and space for me to be a father to Lilou (the single most important girl in my life). It asked of her to be in love, while being able to give the freedom to me to focus on being a dad. So now we have this beautiful home together, a beautiful life and an endless amount of joy. I still have to get used to it sometimes lol. No stress, weird. But Im not writing these long stories without reason. Because something special happened. We wanted it, Lilou requested it and before we knew it we all got our wishes granted. The universe sometimes acts FAST if you want something with the right kind of love. Sometimes dreams do come true. Lilou is becoming a (probably the sweetest) big sister and Milou is getting her life long wish of having a child. Last but not least, I get another shot at family. A home for my daughter, my love and now my future little baby filled with love and happiness. Ive slept so well recently and it feels like theres a good reason for it. ❣️ - @marc_haers on Instagram

Tandem nursing usually means little to no rest. This photo takes me back. The girls were about six months old at this point. I was getting very little sleep, and what I got was restless. - Our bedtime routine began around this time. We went upstairs to my bed and got them all snuggled in their sleep sacs. They often would tandem nurse in the side-lying stacked position, but this particular night Aria wasn’t having it. So Asher got the top bunk and passed right out. - These were some really tough times filled with little sleep and lots of unnecessary arguing. I thought it was my sleep deprivation that kept us constantly at odds, but I eventually realized, It’s HIM, not ME.
