This year marks the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, which took place between July and October 1940. The 15th September 1940 was officially declared Battle of Britain Day as it was the day when RAF Fighter Command claimed a decisive victory over the German Luftwaffe. To commemorate the anniversary this year, Mayor of Ashford Cllr John Link took part in services at Great Chart and Egerton on Sunday 13th September and paid tribute to those who lost their lives defending Britain. The Greek Genocide (or Ottoman Greek Genocide) refers to the systematic extermination of the native Greek subjects of the Ottoman Empire before, during and after World War I (1914-1923). It was instigated by two successive governments of the Ottoman Empire; i.e. the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) party, and the Turkish Nationalist Movement of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. It included massacres, forced deportations and death marches, summary expulsions, boycotts, rape, forced conversion to Islam, conscription into labor battalions, arbitrary executions, and destruction of Christian Orthodox cultural, historical and religious monuments. He was promoted to Generalleutnant three days later and flew to Tripoli on 12 February. Et en juillet 2019, je lisais les infos sur mon tél et je vois : La Minerve, brisée en trois morceaux repose bien au large de Toulon, par 2.370 m de fond. Lattente a du être insupportable pour les familles mais le plus triste cest quévidemment il ny aura ni corps, ni ossements retrouvés.
