PART 1: Udayaswani, from Palakkad. My vision is to start up an organisation where women can address their problems. Back in college, when issues regarding problems of girl students came up, the common responses from concerned authorities were false morality and sexism. I have even faced casteist abuse. This is why I wish to set up a democratic institution within the next ten years. I come from a poor family background. My father wanted a son. I started facing discrimination right from home ever since my younger brother was born. I used to do a lot of insane stuffs to grab my parents attention and show them Im unique too. Both my parents are uneducated. Therefore I was not privileged enough to be politically aware from a young age. I used to ask my mother why are girls different from boys, why cant girls do certain things, etc. I was taught that women are second class citizens. Now I do not intend to speak about it. My father being an alcoholic, used to beat up my mother to an extend that she had attempted suicide many times. Me and my brother had climbed up walls of the house to stop her. Once we were also given something with poison. Most of the times neighbours intervene to settle issues. I used to dream of becoming a dancer, but couldnt afford to pay 150 per month for classes. So I stopped having fancy dreams. To get the attention I didnt get from home , I always tried to be smart in school. I studied in a Govt . school with minimum infrastructure. I was confident on myself back then. There was no one to tell me about opurtunities i had, Therefore I used all available resources. Last year around the same week, I got the opportunity to share my story with hundreds of women during the International Youth Festival at Chennai. I am weak, I get scared, petrified at times, and I am definitely not fearless, the first statement itself was quite the contrary to the theme Young and Fearless. What a sudden relief it is to accept your weakness inside a hall full of people. The perfect picture on Social Media is deceptive; our smiles even more misleading. But in the last few years, I have learned to channelize my energy in the direction I want, despite all the fear and anxiety. And thats what made all the difference. The more I accepted my weakness, the stronger I became. Accepting my emotion for what it is, being honest with myself as I answer all the Whys in my life has helped me reset myself each time. Are you not doing that particular thing because you dont feel like or because youre actually scared? The moment you are honest with yourself, you are growing. Y, aunque era Kurt con quien más fácil me habría resultado sentirme identificado, fue el personaje de Santana quien lo consiguió. Los miedos de Santana eran los míos y, al igual que ella logró superarlos, yo también lo hice. Sé que me habría sido mucho más difícil sin ella. Al igual que Naya Rivera salvó en vida a incontables adolescentes y jóvenes por todo el mundo que atravesaban situaciones complicadas, también murió siendo una heroína. Naya murió salvando a su hijo, siempre fuerte, siempre valiente. Siempre inspiradora. Estés donde estés, gracias por todo, Naya. Our #WCW and second Chattable guest is @camillacleese Camilla Cleese is a comedian, writer and actor currently based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from London, where she was born into a family of comedians and lawyers, Camilla  then moved with her mother to the US, first to Southern Illinois, then Chicago, and Lake Forest. She continued to bounce around, living in Jackson Hole, Santa Barbara, NYC and about 6 other places before settling in Los Angeles giving her a unique perspective. Before pursuing comedy, Camilla attended UCSB (occasionally), was a professional equestrian and model. Initially she was writing comedy, fortunate to work with and learn from her father, John Cleese, and write her way into her first stage show. Continuing to write, she studied acting and started doing more performing with a sketch comedy group and training in Improv at the UCB and Groundlings. One of the members of her sketch group – Sarah Tiana – inspired her to start doing stand up, and before long it became the focal point of her career.   Currently Camilla can be seen playing a supporting role in the independent Drama “High and Outside” on Amazon. She is slated to shoot three films – all independent comedies – which are on hold due to COVID-19. These include “Cut the Painter”, “Bachelorette Weekend” and “One Night in Bath” in which she has the lead role.   She continues to work with her father, both writing and performing, and has a number of projects in the pipeline with him. Namely the Broadway musical adaptation of “A Fish Called Wanda”, and “Relatively Famous” A pilot she wrote loosely based on her life with her father. The others, unfortunately, required signing a silly number of NDAs even though you probably wouldn’t be the slightest bit interested anyway.
