🎉 The Semi-Custom Brand Shop is *finally* coming to an internet browser near you 🎉 If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ll know I’ve been wanting to do this for about two years. Originally I started with the goal to make high quality, intentional brand design more accessible to people in earlier stages of business. While that side of my goal still holds true, after the havoc COVID has wreaked for many small business, especially those who offer creative services and products, I think having a brand that makes you stand out and gives you confidence (and doesn’t make you miss rent in order to afford) is that much more important. So it’s for newer businesses AND those who are more established but might no longer have the budgets for 100% custom design. Each semi-custom brand is designed with a specific type of creative professional in mind and will be single-sell. One business per brand; once you purchase, it’s yours and yours alone. I’ve been hopping into a bunch of different AA meetings this week, mostly because I’m working on getting comfortable with expressing my struggles, thoughts and victories. something we discussed in one meeting was “playing the tape forward”, essentially when you feel like drinking, play out the scenario that will come during and after drinking. and I really have to say, I don’t think people are giving themselves enough credit for Not drinking during this whole quarantine/ pandemic. Like I was playing the tape in my head and I could see it. with how easy it is to get alcohol (they deliver it straight to your damn door!) now, I ~could~ put in PTO at work for a week, order a shitload of booze, and just binge drink. and I would, I can’t even lie to myself and say “it’ll only be one drink”. like who would know, honestly? it’s wild. • • But in seeing this play out in my head, I realized that for the first time in idk how long, I Don’t want to do that. like that’s not what I want my life to look like, that’s not what I want to put myself through, that’s not what I want to put my loved ones through. so again, I make the choice for myself to not drink again tonight, or hopefully any time in the future. • • #soberaf #sobriety #soberbabes #soberlatina #soberbrowngirls #soberlife - @skapunkforever on Instagram

Happy Friday! Thank goodness for the end of this crazy busy week! I’m having a chilled evening in here basking in the late afternoon sun and planing new projects with an early glass of g&t. New moon and new projects excite me! This time of month is all about starting new projects, setting goals and intentions. We’ve entered a new moon phase where the moon is waxing - growing, so you might notice an increase in your motivation & energy. This is the time to take action and refine things in your life. What kinds of stories scare you the most? The Exorcist freaks me out because possession is TERRIFYING. @thecrookedhouse took this jaw-dropping photo of the Exorcist candle! It’s an unusual and spooky combination of petrichor (the smell of rain), musk, incense, and subtle citrus. Another update: I’ve received most of my supply shipments, but I’m STILL waiting on wax 😅. I’m really sorry guys! It was supposed to be here Monday.... but the delivery was rescheduled. I know I probably sound like a broken record this week, but I just want to keep everyone informed! I’ve sent emails directly to folks also, but I want to post here too, just in case. It’s a little hiccup that’s causing a few days of delay. I wouldnt be able to paint if I didnt trusted myself, if I didnt let myself free fall to the craft, without knowing what Ill create, without knowing if I fail.... Just trusting the message Ive got to give this day is meant to reach someone. Just trusting the divine in me is impulsing me to honor the voice I was given, to speak my truth and be reckless, with everything I do. . I also deem my light sometimes, Im just a human, Im just in a process.. A metamorphosis, just like you. . I also deem my light sometimes to fit in the darkness that surrounds me, I also sleep my potential, and numb my heart so I dont feel too much. I also try to hide my soul so I dont pour my essence into the cosmos because it is scary to think my stardust is meant to be a force or love. . Im also scared of living to my fullest potential, I also feel intimidated by the purpose of my soul. I still dont know how to react to pain, how to find myself in darkness. Sometimes I cant apply alchemy to everything, sometimes I keep wondering how to stop doubting myself. . I get it, Ive been here too, I am here too. I hear you, I feel you, I love you. . But you have to start trusting your journey. Youve got to trust that the universe is holding your back, that dark cant exist without light, that maybe you, yes YOU, have the potential of shooting stars whenever it feels to dark. You have to know youre ruled by the moon, and even her has to feel empty to be whole. This cycles in you, these seasons in you, this seeds that grow in your winter... Firstly, Id like to thank Wilma for giving me the opportunity to share my image, and Mobile Artistry for giving me the gallery space beside all the other wonderful works. Very much appreciated. I hadnt taken any shots lately, but enjoy editing so much I was searching my archive for inspiration.. this tree pic which I had previously edited to try and make look like something from one of my fav films 300, was singing to me that it needed a kind of midnight look to it.. as much as Im happy with the original edit, into Stackables App it went.. as always when Im editing there is zero method as to how I achieve my vision, its always a one-off edit, and I have no real tech knowledge of what Im doing but seem to usually get there in the end.. It can take a while, but I love the process. Apologies for not being able to explain my process as I truly would not be able to say exactly what layers I used and why I used them. It all just kind of flows until Im satisfied with the results. I checked my saved formula in Stackables, there is 35 layers so maybe best not to list them all. I am however always happy to share my formulas. On this pic I also used Mextures for the first time, but it was minimal just to adjust the colour slightly, which I could have done in Stackables but was just playing with apps. “Angels & Archangels: A magician’s guide.” This is my latest book, which will be in stores this coming week. You can find a link for it in my bio. Since the book tour had to be canceled due to the pandemic, we scheduled a few virtual events which you can join me for from anywhere in the world. The first will be on Tuesday, July 14th at 7 p.m. and will be through @porter_square_books I’ll post the link in my stories that morning. I’m going to be doing a Q&A, so have your questions ready! I tried to make this book as comprehensive and utilitarian as I possibly could for those who want to work with these intelligences in a practical way, but without being dry or academic. It includes things like the lesser hexagram ritual, for invoking and banishing zodiacal energies, and the Rose Cross ritual. I included names and talismans for the twelve archangels of the zodiac, as well as examples of what each can be invoked to assist with. I also touched on how the tarot was designed so that each card could be charged as a talisman to obtain a specific result, and which angelic intelligences traditionally correspond with each card. There’s a section on the 72 angels of the Shem HaMephorash, and lots of my own personal photos taken as part of the tours I conducted at the Metropolitan museum of art on the history of High Magick. I feel like I put a tremendous amount of my life force into this work, and I am very pleased with the result. My hope is that you will love it as much as I do. and just like my every other poems, This poem is also about sky. or is it? Anyways, The moon is so bright tonight, unlike my dreams. Im lying on the roof Looking at it, Thinking about the other. The sky is so beautiful tonight, Different than it is in my other poems. It is filled with stars. I can see the Orion constellation. and his story came in my mind. The greatest hunter, and how his greed, & hunger for fame, became the reason for his death. This sums up humans nowadays. Well do anything for our greed, only to end up in despair, & then realising, This isnt what we wanted! The clouds are forming different shapes, I can see a phoenix. Ive always been so impressed whenever i see it in a movie , or read about it in a book. A bird always on fire, kills itself only to born again, from its very own ashes. Very poetic, isnt it? Or maybe relatable? Not for me. More like inspirational. The metaphor behind a phoenix dying, And rising from its own ashes, starting again, in a new way. is quite uplifting. A few bats are flying in sky, you know? bats are not blind. & they can pretty much see with their eyes. Unlike me, Not just in dark, even in the broad daylight, I cant see a few things, One of it is Me, myself. Its hard to see myself, its hard to recognise, Its hard to know about it at all. It feels so unknown, Or distant. A bat flew towards me, and stuck its fangs behind my neck. But i cant feel the pain, Maybe its because of some venom, in its fangs, which numbs the pain, or maybe, Its because of my inability to feel. Im just lying there, And after a few seconds, it flew away. But the stars are so beautiful, And the moon is so bright. After every storm, comes a rainbow 🌈 I wanted to dedicate my Friday introduction to this little gummy bear... I’ve shared a piece of the hardships we lived last year after we suffered a miscarriage, but this time there’s a baby with a strong heart beating within me (and I get to see him/her waving at me every two weeks 😭). My gummy bear has brought a lot of joy, as well as a lot of hunger and other inexplicable emotions. God has given me the gift of becoming a mommy once again and I can’t wait to hold this baby in my arms. . . . We’re officially in the second trimester and baby is growing strong. This has been an emotional rollercoaster (hello pregnancy hormones!) but god willing, we’ll be welcoming a new family member Spring 2021! . . . Now, let’s talk business... will I be slowing down? Yes, yes I will. I do not feel guilty about it because I want to enjoy those first months with the little squish as much as possible. I have made the decision to keep my schedule for Spring and Summer as is, and will only be accepting new clients for Fall 2021 and so on. I’m starting to create a new personal series of art pieces to bring love and awareness to something I was fascinated by as a child. These are on a staggering decline and might soon be gone if we’re not careful. More than 40% of insect species are declining and a third are endangered. They are essential to our ecosystems as food for other creatures, to control pests, pollinators of the majority of plant species, recyclers of nutrients and help keep soil healthy. I have had a bag of antique escutcheons for 10 years kicking around, getting orgo-lost (organizing so well you lose things) and re-found and re-orgo-lost 😂. I had wanted to use them for a jewelry display so I had bought lamp turn keys. I have no idea what my original idea was, but I found this lovely painting and played with the newly re-found hardware and came up with this. It’s kinda whimsical and I like it very much. I threw on a bunch of necklaces for proof of concept and it works exactly how I wanted it to! I plan on doing more of these as I find paintings on painters board as opposed to canvas. Malintzin, as she was known by the Nahua people, was a Nahua woman born sometime between 1500 and 1505, somewhere along the Coatzacoalcos river East of the great cities of the Aztec Empire. She is thought to have come from a noble family but sometime between the ages of 8 and 10 years old, she was sold (or possibly kidnapped) into slavery and eventually purchased by a group of Maya who took her to Potonchán. It was here that she learned the Maya language. In 1519, Hernan Cortez arrived on the shores of the Yucatan Peninsula. After a battle with the Maya people, he was made a peace offering that included several women slaves. One of them the now 15 year old Malintzin. As Cortez and his men traveled deeper into the territory, they began to encounter people who spoke different dialects. Up until this point, Cortez had been relying on Gerónimo de Aguilar, a Spaniard who had been shipwrecked in the Yucatan Peninsula some years prior, to translate the Maya language into Spanish. But Aguilar did not know Nahuatl. It was then that Malintzin began to help translating Nahuatl to Maya, which Aguilar would in turn translate to Spanish.
