father of the study of anatomy in Iran دکتر جمال الدین مستقیمی پدر علم آناتومی ایران بود که هشت پژوهش علمی را در زمینه آناتومی در مجامع جهانی به نام کشورمان ثبت کرد که از جمله آنها اثبات عدم ارتباط بین دو پیاز شامه در مغز میباشد که در سال ۱۹۶۵ و در هشتمین کنگره بینالمللی آناتومی و تشریح در آلمان مورد تصویب و ثبت جهانی قرار گرفت. از دیگر کشفیات ایشان می توان به پیدا کردن دو رشته عصبی در مغز که یکی از آنها به قطعه پیشانی و دیگری به کپسول خارجی میرود اشاره کرد. پیدا کردن طبقه عمقی رباط دلتویید (که در ارتوپدی نقش بسیار مهمی دارد) و ثبت آن در مجامع جهانی از دیگر پژوهش های این مرد علم است. همچنین تهیه مدلهای بیوپلاستیک در سال ۱۹۶۰ درکشور آلمان برای اولین بار از دیگر کارهای دکتر مستقیمی در دنیا بود. دکتر مستقیمی پس از آن که در سن ۱۸ سالگی مدرسه طب در تهران را به پایان میرساند، همراه با یک پزشک آمریکایی و یک پزشک ایرانی از طرف دربار مامور میشوند تا تالار تشریح جسد دانشگاه علوم پزشکی تهران را حتی قبل از ساخت دانشکده بسازند .ماموریت ساخت تالار تشریح در مشهد در سن ۲۵ سالگی به وی واگذار میگردد. سپس بنیان گذاری سالن های تشریح دانشکدههای علوم پزشکی اهواز، علوم پزشکی ایران، بخش سالن تشریح دانشکده علوم پزشکی ارومیه، مرکز پزشکی شفا یحیاییان تهران، بخش سالن تشریح دانشکده پزشکی بابل را انجام داد. نتیجه این همه تلاش تشریح بیش از ۸۰۰ جسد انسانی به علاوه اجساد حیوانات بیشمار است. نتیجه این همه تلاش تشریح بیش از ۸۰۰ جسد انسانی به علاوه اجساد حیوانات بیشمار است. دکترجمالالدین مستقیمی تالیفات متعددی در زمینه علوم پایه دارد که مشهورترین کتاب ایشان کالبد شکافی است که به دلیل تسلط کامل وی به سه زبان آلمانی، انگلیسی و فرانسه تصحیح کتابهای معتبرآناتومی جهان از جمله SO BOTTA و GRAYS ANATOMY را برعهده گرفته که این امر اسباب افتخار جامعه پزشکی ایران میباشد. تندیس وی به عنوان پدر آناتومی ایران درجزیره کیش در سال ۱۳۷۶ نصب و مورد پرده برداری قرار گرفته است. ایشان در تاریخ یکشنبه ۶ آذرماه ۱۳۸۴ در مشهد درگذشت و در این شهر مقدس به خاک سپرده شد. #پدر_علم_آناتومی#جمال_الدین_مستقیمی #آناتومی#آناتومیست#anatomy#anatomist - @anatomy_and_surgery on Instagram

ശിക്കാർ എന്ന സിനിമയിലെ പ്രതിഘടിന്സു എന്ന തെലുഗു ഗാനം spb സർ പാടണം എന്നു ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു. എന്റെ orchestra manager വിൻസെന്റ് ചേട്ടൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ assistant നോട് സംസാരിച്ചു.പാട്ടു റെക്കോർഡ് ചെയ്യാൻ ചെന്നൈയിലെ മ്യൂസിക് ലൊഞ്ച് സ്റ്റുഡിയോയിൽ രണ്ടു ദിവസത്തിനകത്തു spb സർ എത്തും എന്നു ഉറപ്പു കിട്ടി ..ആദ്യമായ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കൂടെ work ചെയ്യുന്നതിന്റെ ത്രില്ലിലായിരുന്നു ഞാൻ . അടുത്ത ദിവസമായപ്പോൾ വിൻസെന്റ് ചേട്ടൻ എന്നെ വിളിച്ചിട്ടു പറഞ്ഞു -കുട്ടാ ,spb സാറിന് പാട്ട് കേൾക്കണം;ഉടൻ അത് അയച്ചു കൊടുക്കണം എന്തിനാണ് അദ്ദേഹം എന്റെ പാട്ട് evaluate ചെയ്യുന്നത് എന്ന തോന്നൽ വല്ലാതെ മനസ്സിനെ അസ്വസ്ഥമാക്കികൊണ്ടേയിരുന്നു. ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ പാടാൻ വിളിക്കേണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നൊക്കെ ചിന്തിച്ചു അനാവശ്യമായ ego എന്നിൽ പടർന്നു കയറി . അടുത്ത ദിവസം അദ്ദേഹം കൃത്യ സമയത്തു തന്നെ സ്റ്റുഡിയോയിൽ എത്തി.സ്വയം കുനിഞ്ഞു തന്റെ ചെരുപ്പുകൾ കൈകൊണ്ടെടുത്തു shoe rack ഇലെ ഇടത്തിൽ കൃത്യമായി വച്ചു.എന്നിട്ടു എന്റെ തോളിൽ തട്ടീട്ടു പറഞ്ഞു “It’s a very nice song and i loved the orchestration”.സ്റ്റുഡിയോയുടെ അകത്തേക്ക് കടന്നപ്പോഴേക്കും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു -ക്ഷമിക്കണം ,ഞാൻ ഇന്നലെ പാട്ടൊന്നു കേൾക്കണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.അതിന്റെ കാരണം എനിക്ക് താങ്കളുടെ കോമ്പോസിഷനോട് നീതി പുലർത്താൻ സാധിക്കുമോ എന്നറിയാനാണ്.spb എന്ന ഗായകന് ഒരുപാട് ലിമിറ്റേഷൻസ് ഉണ്ട് .So I didnt want your composition to suffer due to my limitations.പാട്ട് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ സമാധാനമായി ..എനിക്കു നന്നായി പാടാൻ പറ്റും എന്നു കരുതുന്നു ..ഇന്നലെ അർദ്ധരാത്രി വരെ concert ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു . വീട്ടിലെത്തിയ ശേഷം പാട്ട് ശ്രദ്ധാപൂർവം പഠിച്ചു. Govt. is taking court summons for granted: Chief Justice Gita Mittal Jammu and Kashmir High Court has observed that unnecessary delays by government in contesting cases is burdening the public exchequer and interim orders passed in pleas have serious repercussions. A division bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and justice Puneet Gupta while hearing a Public Interest Litigation said: “No effort is made to obtain instructions from Government departments to assist the Court on the first date of hearing and it is taken for granted that notices would be issued in a routine”. While the court underscored that no effort is made to oppose the matter, it pointed out as a result interim orders passed in these matters have serious repercussions. For instance, the court said, stays of land acquisition for large infrastructure projects, stay of selection processes conducted after long procedures, stays of transfers and posting orders and interim protection to encroachers have serious impacts. “We find that these cases remain pending for decades. As a result illegalities are perpetuated for decades together having the heavy burden on the public interest as well as public exchequer.” The Court observed that “service of advance copy before filing means that a counsel representing the respondents is well prepared to assist the Court.” This, the court said, is the practice followed in other courts. The Court’s observations came after it noticed that Jal Shakti department had neither filed the reply nor any one represented before it in the Public Interest Litigation seeking directions for supplying drinking water supply to seven villages in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The Court directed Commissioner Secretary Jal Shakti Department J&K to remain present in person on October 22. Advocate Syed Iqbal Tahir through advocate Syed Faisal Qadri has filed a PIL seeking to provide drinking water to villages Rambirpora, Kehribal, Rampora, Wantrag, Roonipora, Brah of District Anantnag. - @kashmirnewsalert on Instagram

The Prime Minister, India never got. Although a senior congress leader across his 50 years long political career, and a respected man across all fields, Mukherjee did not get his breakthrough in Congress. Former President, Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee was infact a founding member of two breakaway parties of the INC. He got his breakthrough when he was elected to the Rajya Sabha on a Bangla Congress ticket, a party founded by the likes of Ajoy Mukherjee, Siddhartha Shankar Ray, and of which he was also a part. The party later merged with INC, after leading two coalition governments in West Bengal. Often considered number two during the UPA regime, and having held important portfolios, such as Defence, Finance, External Affairs, during Indira Gandhi, Narsimha Rao and Manmohan Singh governments, he was close enough, twice, to become the Prime Minister. After the assasination of Indira Gandhi, Mukherjee, much senior to Rajeev Gandhi at the time, was seen by many as her political heir. However, he was allegedly sidelined from mainstream politics, before he founded a second breakaway party of Congress, Rastriya Samajwadi Congress. However, his party was unable to appeal the mass, due to the fact that Pranab Mukherjee was never a mass leader. The party eventually merged with INC in 1989, three years after it was formed. Pranab Mukherjee played important roles in the post-1991 governments. It was speculated in 2004 that Mukherjee would be made Prime Minister of India after Sonia Gandhi declined to become one, but Dr. Manmohan Singh was appointed. Despite playing an important role in Indias economy post 1991 era, and being in politics from 1957, he never won any election until 2004. He was elected President of India in 2012. Her earliest memories of her Abba was him sitting on a writing table in his white kurta-pyjama smoking incessantly and writing in the wee hours of the morning. As a child, she was convinced poet was a euphemism for people who dont work! Living in Red Flag Hall, a commune like flat of the Communist Party of India meant the family lived frugally. Her mother Shaukat Azmi worked in Prithvi Thearte and in her absence her Abba fed, bathed and looked after the children. Her mother often rehearsed her lines spontaneously in front of dhobi, cook etc. Shabana got petrified and assumed her mother is turning insane. Her father dropped his work and took her for long walk on beach, he explained to her, her mother has not enough time to rehearse and as a family it is their duty to support her. Shabana was embarrassed about her father while growing up since Kaifi never wore in western clothes or could speak English. It was years later, Shabana finally realised the grandeur of her father. When she finally confided in her father she wants to act, he said I will support you in whatever you choose to do. If you want to become a shoemaker (moochi) I will support you provided you tell yourself that you will try to become the best moochi in the business. One of the heart warming incidence between father and daughter is related to mangoes. When Shabana was young she brought a bag full of mangoes from her friend. Kaifi noticed this but did not say a word. It was 1950s and the family was living frugally. Setembro Mês da Alfabetização e das Literacias: Tomaz Borba Vieira Tomaz Borba Vieira, nasceu em Ponta Delgada a 2 de julho de 1938, é professor, pintor e escritor açoriano. Estudou pintura na Escola Superior de Belas Artes de Lisboa e na Academia de Belas Artes de Florença; Pedagogia na Universidade de Lisboa e; Ciências da Educação na Universidade de Boston. Foi docente no ensino técnico, preparatório, secundário, superior e formador de professores. Em 2005, fundou o Castelo Centro Cultural da Caloura, no concelho de Lagoa. Proferiu palestras e publicou artigos sobre questões de arte e de educação, prefaciou exposições de novos artistas e apresentou obras de alguns dos principais artistas açorianos, no programa “Espaço Vital”, da RTP Açores, em 1989. Organizou diversas exposições, a título individual e coletivo, e realizou intervenções em espaços públicos, entre as quais os murais em mosaico na Igreja da Ribeira Chã. A sua obra pictórica está representada em diversas instituições e museus, como por exemplo, os Museus de Ponta Delgada, de Angra do Heroísmo e Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Ao longo da sua carreira, foi-lhe atribuído vários reconhecimentos, tais como, a Medalha de Mérito Municipal da Câmara Municipal de Lagoa, o Diploma de Mérito Municipal da Câmara Municipal de Ponta Delgada e a Insígnia Autonómica de Reconhecimento da Assembleia Legislativa da Região Autónoma dos Açores. The legendary South Indian musician S P Balasubrahmanyam has passed away aged 74. — A prolific playback and concert singer who also made his mark as a music director, actor, dubbing artist and film producer, Balasubrahmanyam also lent his voice to the Tamil Eelam liberation struggle, recording several revolutionary songs in the mid-2000s. — Balasubrahmanyam, known also as SPB, was much loved by Eelam Tamils of all ages. As well as his later recorded Eelam songs, his melodies from across the Palk Straits provided succour to the Tamil youth of the 70s and 80s, then wrestling with pogroms and state brutality, the unfolding armed struggle and mass displacement. അങ്ങേയറ്റം അസാധാരണമായ ഒരു ലോക സാഹചര്യത്തിലാണ് ഇത്തവണ തിരുവോണം കടന്നുവരുന്നത്. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ അസാധാരണമാം വിധം മ്ലാനമായ ഈ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തെ മുറിച്ചുകടക്കാന് നമുക്കു കഴിയുകതന്നെ ചെയ്യും എന്ന പ്രത്യാശ പടര്ത്തിക്കൊണ്ടാവണം ഇത്തവണത്തെ ഓണാഘോഷം. പഞ്ഞക്കര്ക്കിടകത്തെ കടന്നാണല്ലൊ നാം പൊന്ചിങ്ങത്തിരുവോണത്തിലെത്തുന്നത്. അപ്പോള് ഓണം വലിയ ഒരു പ്രതീക്ഷയാണ്; പ്രത്യാശയാണ്. ഏതു പ്രതികൂല സാഹചര്യത്തിനുമപ്പുറത്ത് അനുകൂലമായ പ്രകാശപൂര്ണമായ ഒരു കാലമുണ്ട് എന്ന പ്രതീക്ഷ. ആ പ്രതീക്ഷയുടെ കൈത്തിരികള് മനസ്സില് വെളിച്ചം പടര്ത്തട്ടെ. ഇക്കാലത്ത് അതിന് പ്രത്യേകമായ പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട്. ഓണം ഭാവിയെക്കൂടി പ്രസക്തമാക്കുന്ന ഒരു സങ്കല്പമാണ്. മാനുഷരെല്ലാരും ഒന്നുപോലെ കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്ന ഒരു കാലം പണ്ട് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്ന് ആ സങ്കല്പം പറഞ്ഞുതരുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടുതന്നെ വറ്റാത്ത ഊര്ജത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രമാണ് ആ സങ്കല്പം. എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യരും ഒരുമയില്, സമത്വത്തില്, സ്നേഹത്തില്, സമൃദ്ധിയില് കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു കാലം ഉണ്ടാവണമെന്നാഗ്രഹിച്ച് അതിനായി യത്നിക്കുന്ന ആര്ക്കും അളവില് കവിഞ്ഞ പ്രചോദനം പകര്ന്നുതരും ആ സങ്കല്പം. ആ യത്നങ്ങള് സഫലമാവട്ടെ. എല്ലാവിധ വേര്തിരിവുകള്ക്കുമതീതമായി എല്ലാവിധ ഭേദചിന്തകള്ക്കുമതീതമായി സന്തോഷത്തോടെ എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യരും കഴിയുന്ന ഒരു നല്ല കാലത്തിന്റെ പിറവിക്കായി എന്നും പ്രചോദനമാവട്ടെ ഓണം. കോവിഡ് വ്യവസ്ഥകള് പാലിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, പരിമിതികള്ക്കുള്ളില് നിന്ന് നമുക്ക് ഓണം ആഘോഷിക്കാം. എല്ലാ മലയാളികള്ക്കും ഹൃദയപൂര്വമായ ഓണാശംസകള്. പിണറായി വിജയൻ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി - @iprdkerala on Instagram

My grandparents came to the UK in the 70s, and worked for the NHS until their retirement. Being Indian, but born in Britain, sometimes I feel like I’m straddling two complex and intangible identities, especially when I’m confronted with questions like ’Where are you REALLY from?’ or asked why I’m brown, but have a ‘white’ surname. Like so many, the British empire and its lasting effects in India is entangled in my identity. But there is still a sense of national amnesia when it comes to Britain’s imperial past, an unwillingness to acknowledge what colonialism did and how its legacy lives on today. A false and romanticised version of events is still ingrained in our national story and rooted in our culture. This was clear just yesterday when our PM Boris Johnson proclaimed that we should end our ‘cringing national embarrassment about our history’, encouraging patriotic pride in Britain’s involvement in slavery and colonialism. I *wish* his opinion was uncommon, but a survey found that 59% of the British population think that the atrocities of empire were “something to be proud of”. (YouGov, 2014) It’s kind of unsurprising when you think about how much of our colonial history has been filtered or consciously covered up (google Operation Legacy). Our school curriculum excludes the ‘ugly’ bits of our national past, and this erasure perpetuates white supremacy in our education system and minimises past injustice and racism - further marginalising those whose ancestors have suffered because of it. This year research found that only 9% of GCSE students have studied modules that reference the British empire, and only 11% study modules that acknowledge Black people’s contribution to Britain. It was only when I started studying history at university that I really began to learn the full extent of British imperialism and its ongoing legacy - and there’s still SO much I don’t know.
