I did a mix for @crack_magazine The link is out there somewhere Tom Jobim said something about being more influenced by Debussy and Ravel than American Jazz music. This thought wandered, and eventually bore fruit in the form of this mix of music. There is something about a lot of Bossa Nova that always feels slightly perverse to me. Almost narcotically content. But its exactly this character that draws me to it in these extraordinary times. It paints the world in strange colours. Using a Vienna style lager recipe, we added corn to the mash, then lightly dry-hopped with Motueka for that zesty lemon-lime flavour. Salud! . . . West Coast Pale Ale 5% 10 IBU. Don’t let the IBU fool you, this pale ale is all west coast! It’s not a hazy, but it’s certainly juicy and aromatic from being dry-hopped with Mosaic and Citra. Its long, cold conditioning means it finishes exceptionally clean and crisp (and fast!). . . . Norwegian Table Bier 3.5% 18IBU. This table bier may be low in ABV, but is anything but thin and boring! It has a full body and lots of fruity, zippy flavour, with just a touch of rusticity. Truly elegant and refined. . . . Kveik Kellerbier 5% 20 IBU. We used Huell Melon to hop this Kveik-fermented farmhouse ale. The yeast keeps the beer dry and citrusy, while the Huell Melon brings it’s signature round sweetness.
