It was discovered in 1952. It is estimated to be around 3,000 light years from earth and has an age of around 40,000 years. This nebula is huge, It probably would have taken a mosaic of 9 to 12 panels to capture the whole thing. Its captured using narrowband filters, but I decided to go for a more natural look and leave out SII. I put Ha in the Red Channel and OIII in the Green and Blue Channels. Well, Im not sure where these last couple of clear nights came from considering they were calling for fog, but they are being used to their fullest. Finally got a chance to process one of the many targets Ive captured over the last week. Here is M11. Known as the Wild Duck Cluster. I usually have no problem seeing shapes in sky objects, but this one I have yet to see a triangle that represents a swimming or flying duck. Buried in the southern Milky Way, this open cluster is located in the constellation Scutum. It requires binoculars or a telescope to see. It contains 2,900 stars and is 6,120 light years from Earth. Equipment details: Total exposure time ~20min (81x15sec) @ f/1.9, C14EdgeHD+Hyperstar, ZWO ASI2600mc pro cooled to -10c, flats & darks calibrated. Processed in PixInsight - @deepskyeye on Instagram

As some of you may know, my first record was released on Axis in 2006. The music was very experimental and unconventional, not really a record for the masses. However, in the past few years there have always been some people who keep telling me that they love this record very much. Therefore it was pretty clear that when I record an album for Axis, I would not focus on the dancefloor. At a certain point you ask yourself what is techno, is it still the search for new sounds or a certain feeling. Anyway, some of these tracks were initially intended for the dancefloor, but they lost more and more of the percussive elements during the production process. To enhance the effect of the music, I painted the artwork with acrylic on canvas and wrote a short story for the album. Many thanks to Yoko and Jeff! The album is now available in the Axis Shop. So sometimes on shoots things don’t go as planned but you adapt and problem solve! 💪🏼👏🏼This rig was a plan C due to a few issues but man, it ended up looking pretty dope! Important information about successful internal turning. Anyone who has tried boring a hole has quickly discovered it can be one of the most difficult aspects of machining. Vibration developing from improper setups can lead to failure very easily. To preface, length to diameter ratio determines much in your success or failure when attempting internal turning. Here are a few rules of thumb when selecting a boring bar for your application. Assuming favorable conditions. Steel boring bars have an effective length to diameter ratio of 3x1, a 25mm boring bar can generally bore 75mm deep without issues. Carbide boring bars have an effective length to diameter ratio of 6x1, a 25mm boring bar can generally bore 150mm deep without issues. Carbide reinforced and dampened boring bars have an effective length to diameter ratio of 10x1, a 25mm boring bar can generally bore 250mm deep without issues. (Main picture on this post explains the internals, see the second image for a comparison between a smaller Carbide bar and a larger steel bar. Both bars though different in size can bore roughly the same depth successfuly) Greater internal turning depths are possible with each style of bar with fine tuning. This can take time to find a successful recipe though. •For successful internal turning it is normally best to shorten the bar overhang as much as possible. •Choose a smaller corner radius insert than the chosen depth of cut •Choose a sharp positive insert with an open chip breaker. •Use coolant to evacuate chips or compressed air •Modulate the cutting speed to break any harmonics that develop. •Use a cylindrical clamp to hold as much of the bar as possible, set screws make less contact and do little to absorb vibrations. •Support the workpiece fully •Reduce cutting speed and increase feed rates if vibrations begin. - 351w in 65 Galaxie..only thing left was coolant, prime oil pump and the dizzy..i rolled the dice and paid the price..fell off other extension after priming. Got adaptor out thru drain and EVENTUALLY socket out thru dizzy w/magnet and a bore cam. Luckily didn’t have drop the pan. Lesson learned.
