I’ve been slowing down and taking more care of myself lately. 23 ❤️🥳 TW: Eating Disorder, Suicidal MDD. ❕❕❕❕ 1st time sharing about anything a lil poopy in life, s/o for friends & loved ones that stuck by me! From 2008, I’ve made multiple attempts to end my life. Using weight loss was my choice of coping. Back then, social media - tumblr lol taught me how to do every single tip and trick there was to conceal and engage in disordered eating. I tried everything. Prior to 2017, I tried to avoid any full body pics for a rly long time (2nd pic r the only few I have). Btw: For any pals, it’s completely my fault for not saying anything or telling anyone. I had a hard time learning how to even talk about it. More importantly, I never wanted to use mental health as an excuse in life or for negative behaviour. When 2017 hit, I really tried to get my life together. My parents (❤️) have grown so much with me and I’ve had a great psychiatrist (I’m clinically diagnosed with major persistent depressive disorder/borderline ASD). To sum up, I firmly believe Eating Disorder recovery is possible (something that Looking Glass Foundation has taught me too!). It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve recovered. My body then and looking at it now, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been with it. Overall, I want to be remembered as kat and not for my diagnosis/mental health so this will be the first/only time I’ll be speaking on it. This year, I’ve been super lucky to meet and work with a bunch of beautiful, strong ladies! Together, we’ve decided to put out a platform to centralize all disordered eating/eating disorder resources and stories. The conversation needs to happen because anyone at any age can literally learn how to start an eating disorder just from a few searches, that’s so messed up. We have to change how the online world glamorizes the ideal body type and promotes harmful disordered eating tips/ diet products now because it’s so f*king bad!
