There was a time when Meantime from #HelmetBand was the heaviest thing I owned. #TheMoodyBlues was the first concert I ever went to (I was 12 or 13 - Gorge Amphitheater, amazing!). Saw #TheFaint on their Wet From Birth tour (sup @leiaseattle ) and danced and sweated more than any brutal metal or hardcore show... I could go on. Introducing PARTICIPATORY BUDGET, a fund-shifting event/sale from @full_bleed_ . Our **first batch** of goods drops here this SATURDAY, AUG 22 ! We’re offering circle shirts [by me aka @actnormal2020], ceramics by Jessa [@jessacarterinstant], and maybe a few surprises. 100% of the money raised via PARTICIPATORY BUDGET goes directly to an overnight rest and restoration retreat for BIPOC femmes on Camano Island.         Last year around this time, Jessa and I (as @full_bleed_) staged a no-cost retreat for femmes on the same property—our friend Tree’s place, [@sea_eye_]. Earlier this summer, inspired by @activationresidency and similar efforts, we asked @mirandarojas - a guest at last year’s event - if she’d like to host an iteration centered on Black and brown femmes. She said yes, and we named it SELF-DEFINED. This free-form BIPOC retreat will take place in mid-September; because of Covid, we’re only able to host five guests (compared to last year’s ten) but those five confirmed BIPOC guests are artists, activists, lovers, and healers and we trust the incremental longterm benefits of the ripple effect implicitly.         But back to this fund-shifting event, or what we might have called a ‘fundraiser’ in the old world. PARTICIPATORY BUDGET is inspired by the increase in actual participatory budgeting in cities and civic organizations, and it is informed by decentralized care, mutual aid, and the ongoing need to reallocate white wealth. We hope you will buy some things you love AND look for further opportunities in fund-shifting, reparations, and defunding movements. Today! 10 YEARS OF WE STITCH THESE WOUNDS We Stitch These Wounds is the debut album by American band Black Veil Brides, released under the Standby label on July 20, 2010. Andy announced in December 2009 the recording to start the album. This album was recorded between February and April 2010, in Hollywood, CA, in the studio Clear Lake Audio, by manager Blasko. On June 14, 2010, the video for the song Perfect Weapon was released on July 8 as a single. We Stitch These Wounds, The Morticians Daughter and Knives & Pens of the EP Never Give In were also re-recorded. This album sold 11,000 copies in its first week, also peaked #36 the Billboard 200 and #1 in Independent Release. The album was criticized, as critics were annoyed by Biersacks monotonous voice, being only able to sing in an octave. One reviewer in www.sputnikmusic.com ended up in his review saying, Hey, at least the kids outperformed Brokencyde. A very common critique among BVB fans and critics was also clarified, as Knives and Pens is accused of being a plagiarism of Avenged Sevenfolds Unholy Confessions, guitar sound, pre-chorus and drum timing.
