Hola cómo están, yo acá peinada para la ocasión, sin maquillaje ni filtros para contarles que finalmente me animé a volcar mi conocimiento en las nuevas tecnologías enseñando a distancia. Es un desafío porque disfruto muchísimo del vínculo que se genera en el trato presencial con el/la alumno/a y el ida y vuelta en esa enseñanza, pero buscar nuevas formas de comunicación y darle un giro positivo a las circunstancias es parte del recorrido y del aprendizaje. Mis inicios como maquilladora hace más de 20 años, fueron de la mano de La Roche Posay quien me capacitó en maquillaje dermatólogico o dermocorrector y cosmetología, aplicando el maquillaje como correctivo terapéutico en pacientes con enfermedades dermatológicas y cicatrices. En paralelo comencé mi práctica de yoga y meditación tanto el linaje indio como tibetano, con un estudio profundo en Maha Yoga (las 8 ramas del yoga), este estudio incluye el Ayurveda (medicina tradicional india). De ésta forma y luego de un largo recorrido personal pude volcar mi parte creativa en el maquillaje audiovisual y redireccionar la parte terapéutica dentro de la filosofía oriental. Estoy trabajando con diferentes módulos teórico prácticos virtuales en donde enseño técnicas basadas en ayurveda para que puedan de forma natural incorporar hábitos de cuidados en salud y belleza. 8 years ago to the day, I received my diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes. As made clear in this picture, I was 138 pounds and looked like I was cast as Skeletor in the live action He-Man Reboot film. Life was hard. I was going through an extremely debilitating depression, every day was a struggle to get out of bed and on top of the mental illness and duress I was fighting, my body was trying to kill me. I was told by my doctors that if I hadnt come into the office and they didnt catch the diagnosis when they did, I would likely have been dead by the end of the next week. Diabetes is an easy disease to poke fun at but it truly is no joke. Although its just become a part of me now and something I rarely think about, living with diabetes is one of the most frustrating and shitty diseases that a person should have to deal with. There are days that I want to rip out my insulin pump and try to live like a normal person, not worrying about what I’m eating, but doing that would result in a truly gruesome and horrific death to diabetic keto acidosis . If youre LUCKY, the first thing that will happen is a brain hemmorage sending you into a coma so you dont have to feel all of your organs systematically shutting down and your body eating and corroding itself away as your blood turns into actual acid. Yet, all of that being said, I am thankful in a way for my diabetes. It has shown me that I am stronger person than I ever knew I was. To date, diabetes has almost killed me three times now yet each time Ive come out on top. When shit gets tough in my life now, I just remember that Ive literally overcome death and anything else is just trivial. I know that Im lucky to still be alive. Ive survived. Others have not been as fortunate. Im proud to carry on in their wake and try to educate others so no one else has to lose their life to this disease. As you all know Rhiann passed away on the 11th of September; her funeral will be taking place on the 29th of September at 10.30AM. Due to strict covid restrictions we can only have 20 people inside the crematorium and 10 people outside. In lieu of attending the crematorium we are asking people to line our street to pay their respects to Rhiann as she leaves us for the last time.
