- Naomi Parker aka Rosie the Riveter passed away January 20th of 2018. She inspired so many young women with her iconic poster. She was 96. I havent seen a lot of press on this and sadly I only just now learned of this. I wanted to take the time to honor her.

#AD. Post trim braid-out ✂️ I’ve always loved what I could do with my hair. 🥰 Whether it’s long, short or shaved into a Caesar; black blue-black brown, red or golden blonde ; I’ve always loved it. I’ve always had a lot of it and it always grew quite fast. When I made the decision to wear my natural hair color it was because trying to keep my roots matching the rest of my hair was becoming a burden. However, when I decided to return to my natural texture it was because I liked the style versatility. Now that I’m in midlife and postmenopausal, I’ve noticed a few changes. As my estrogen levels decrease, although it’s not noticeable to others, I’m noticing a decrease in my hair’s density. I’m also noticing an increase in the amount of shedding I experience when I wash it. And it tends to need a lot more moisture. This beautiful client came to see me from Northern California , she was seeking a color that will blend with her roots so she can stop coloring her hair every 2/3 weeks and just come to the salon for toner, mask treatment and cut about 3 times a year. In this transformation I lightened the whole hair starting from where her artificial color starts in foils by taking very thin sections using @redken flash light with 20 vol and @olaplex and leaving her natural roots untouched until I reached level 10 pale blonde, rinsed, towel dried and and pre-toned the yellow with @redken shade eq 1/2 9V + 1/2 9B with double the amount clear (00) mixed with equal amount processing solution for 20 minutes. Rinsed the hair again, dry 70% and applied @matrix sheer acidic steel toner with 6 vol for 30 minutes. Then dry hair again and create the low lights in foils to match the pattern of her roots using @matrix ColorSync 1/2 7AA + 1/2 8P with 10 vol for 30 minutes( when you are applying the low light on silver base hair it won’t go brassy when it fade), when its time to rinse the dark part first apply conditioner on the silver hair outside the foils to avoid the silver from getting stained once you remove the foils of the dark strands, shampoo Cut an A-line bob haircut and style with round brushes. Amazing results.
