That feeling when you’re camped out in your favorite desert hideaway, hangin’ in a bathrobe, cookin’ vegetables you sowed from seed. And what really gets me fired up: the way all these joys intersect. It’s all I can think about this summer. We’ve been connecting the dots between outdoor advocacy, environmental justice, and social justice—but now in 2020, we’re seeing that this isn’t a small cycle of connectivity, it’s a web where everything is inextricably tangled. Outdoor advocacy is environmental justice is social justice is food justice is land stewardship is land back is community justice is community joy. I’ve been spending more time at my @wasatchcommunitygardens plot downtown than I have hiking on the trails I can see from my backyard—and I wondered I was becoming less of an outdoorist. And then I realized what an exclusionary, narrow-minded thought that was. I’m not becoming less of an outdoorist, I’m expanding everything that it means to identify as an outdoorist. The more we grow (both figuratively as a human being and literally with those tomatoes in my backyard), the better we can learn, serve, support, build. What parts of yourself have you excluded from your identity as an outdoor advocate? How can we intersect and expand? How can we use all of our life joys (and frustrations) to be better advocates? There’s no legislative action item or grand definitive statement here today, just a call to start looking around and opening your eyes to the ways that everything in your life connects and affects, and the opportunities you have to do something good with it all. - We got tired of our old generic laptop lap board and built a better one. The new board replaces the hot pillow the old one used with foam strips that ventilate the computer better, it doesnt let the mouse slide off the board, and it charges our phone. Video link in the comments.

РЕМОНТ. Часть 1 Тема ремонта настолько обширная, что даже фотки не влезли в один пост. Ворэвэр. Что мы имели на входе? Помещение полность внутри обделанное коричневым сайдингом, жёлтые от сигаретного дыма окна, отсутствие 2-х окон, железная страшная и не закрывающаяся дверь, непонятная вытяжка, которая не работала, на окнах страшные коричневые жалюзи, 2 ниши с полками, пол из листов фанеры. Что сделали? 1. Мы сняли сайдинг. Внутри оказалась сносная обрешетка 2. Провели новую разводку под свет, розетки, выключатели. А под печи для каждой свою розетку 3. Одели обрешетку в гипсокартон, с откосами и полотком, и выстроили стену из гипсокартона для печной 4. Покрасили гипсокартон: одну стену пыльной розой, 2 стены Рома покрасил так, чтобы типа казалось ободрано, четвёртая стена просто светло-серая, она с окнами 5. Положили ламинат, самый дешёвый, что смогла найти в карантин в Сочи в наличии(580руб кажется) 6. Повесили светильники, в том числе и те, что мне сделали ребята из кузни по-соседству. 7. Пришлось докупить стеллажа в икее, покрасить его в чёрный 8. Заменили фанеры с дырами в окнах на стеклопакет, купила и новую дверь. Стало больше света 9. Глеб с гор принёс корягу - она стала светильником. Планируем плафоны сделать из фарфора.(дойдут ли руки?) Все вместе эт дело обошлось мне около 200к. Заняла сама у себя, теперь отдаю сама себе. Ну вы поняли, не муж олигарх, а я олигарх, блин😆 В следующий раз покажу двор и че сделали во дворе!😉 Новый тэг #ceramic_hugs_remont . For the Uprise Art Loft in New York, we were able to merge a showroom, office, and gallery together under the umbrella of the @uprisenyc ethos. Many more pics up now at our studio feature up now @metropolismag (link in bio). Millwork throughout was created in-house by our studio. The piece shown is a 20 foot wide display for small sculptural works. The space is peppered with art furniture commissioned by some of Uprise Art’s incredible artists. Collaborative duo Adam Frezza and Terri Chiao @chiaozza created the colorful, blobby entry benches and the sculptural lounge lighting is by @angel_oloshove - Best of all, the space will play host to an ever changing congregation of artists’ works - constantly reinterpreting the space for years to come. A magnificent early 20th C. canvas side panel from the awning of a gentlemen’s outfitters - This is a great local piece from a long closed gentlemen’s outfitters that time forgot. The awning is stamped ‘Worth Co. Southend-on-sea’ who started trading in 1889 and are still trading in Southend today! - It’s in good condition overall with some signs of wear and older repairs. These were reupholstered in the 1980s in a creamy wool fabric. Everything has been professionally power steam cleaned and vacuumed. There is some minor wear and fading on the upholstery as viewable in pictures. I have the original B&B Italia covers which are a bright green bamboo print on a yellowy(I believe originally white background). The set is unbelievably comfy. Home sweet home 🌿 ici cest le premier week end pluvieux depuis très longtemps, de quoi se mettre dans lambiance automnale en attendant le retour du soleil 🌞 . Nest ce pas le meilleur moment pour commencer a faire des cartons ? 😱📦 Vous lavez compris dans mes stories récentes, nous allons quitter cette maison qui nous aura rendu heureux pendant 7 années. Nous lavons faite construire selon nos besoins et nos envies de lépoque. Nous la voulions originale, moderne et chaleureuse et lavons façonné et bichonné dans ce sens jusquau dernières finitions. Elle est maintenant prête à faire le bonheur de sa prochaine famille . Quand à nous, nous débordons dimagination et dimpatience pour la suite ! Nous allons re faire construire une maison, non loin de là ( vous en avez eu un petit aperçu cette semaine, car je vous ai emmené sur notre nouveau terrain 🌳🌾) avec de nouvelles inspirations, de nouvelles envies . La manœuvre nest pas évidente, et implique de sortir de sa zone de confort, sa routine. Le chemin est sûrement semé dembuches mais le choix est mûrement réfléchi, nous ne tenons jamais en place , on doit être un peu fous. Fous de vouloir se mettre en danger pendant une période aussi incertaine que celle ci, mais notre audace nous a toujours servi jusquici alors on se lance, puisque nos rêves sont plus fort que la raison, en avant ! 🙌🏻 🏡 . Nous avons trouvé une location qui va nous permettre cette transition. Les garçons sont déjà très excités et heureux de ce changement. Ils tentent aussi de nous imposer leur choix pour la nouvelle maison haha, ces deux là simaginent déjà vivre dans leur studio 🌿 #petitsados .
