Last year, this time! I miss this beach, this town, mango smoothies and the beautiful people I was here with! 🌸 Midway through this trip our flights got cancelled and we ended up losing that money and had to book last minute flights to get back but even then it was an amazing trip! Vietnam exceeded my expectation in every expect! 🖤 Plus I was there with friends. What more I could have asked for?✨✨ . PS: How the definition of a crisis has changed! When our flights got cancelled in Vietnam or when I lost my phone outside Jakarta airport, each time I thought the worst has happened. Fast forward a year and we are fighting a global pandemic. Hoy más que nunca le agradezco a la vida por permitirme estar con mi familia en estos tiempos de pandemia y me hace muy feliz saber que todos estamos bien y disfrutamos de este confinamiento juntos. HAIR UPDATE So the hair isn’t going to plan. There is definitely re growth very white thin hairs but it’s gotten just a tad bigger since March only .75cm (thanks to everyone who suggested measuring it at the start!) . Over the last 4 weeks my hair has been falling out again in clunks & it’s been kind of hard to know what to do. I haven’t made any appointments yet as I haven’t been going anywhere as I see my family but I think I will once I return to Dublin as it’s not getting better. I’ve been taking supplements and really good care of my hair (except that coconut oil mask now and again 🤣) so it’s just a bit disheartening. I know it’s such a small thing but I guess I never really appreciated how hair makes me feel. In the grand scheme of things lots of others go through much worse especially now and then I feel bad for feeling bad about it. 🤣😭 Few people have suggested particular hair treatments for the patch but I’m more concerned with why the rest is falling out now? Just like the restless sea my mind is spinning these days... in search of answers. Yet, with every answer more questions surface. I am wondering what the point of all this is. Can I really post another smoothie bowl or cookie recipe while the world is facing a never-ending stream of problems WE ourselves have caused? Food waste and overconsumption over here, while hunger & poverty still exist. Countries making the same mistakes we westerners made years ago. A plastic collapse destroying our oceans and biodiversity. The urge to always grow, sell more, buy more, achieve more, own more. And then, self-optimisation in every aspect of life as an industry - which I highly doubt is actually helping us live more mindful lives. Where is the compassion? Where is the honest concern for the people in our surroundings? The care for our planet, future generations? Yes, call me a pessimist (today). But I am exhausted. Its just hard to stay positive. And to find the strength to continue voicing my ideas & concerns (in a non-accusing way) no matter where I go or whom I talk to, not just here on social media. The more I shift to topics that actually move me the less people I reach. Not that I care about the number of followers, Ive left that mindset far behind me. But it does make me wonder: how is it that so many people dont want to draw conclusions from the obvious? With information available everywhere for free? Why do they continue to purchase products from mass animal farming despite knowing both the cruelty and climate effects behind it - just cause its oh-so-delicious? Shopping new clothes every week cause its just so much fun, or even worse, wearing a feminist t-shirt thats most likely been sown by an exploited woman in a sweatshop far far away. Finding the to-go lunch options packaged in single-use plastics just way too convenient to give up. But sure, we simply dont have enough time to think about all this - despite all the handy tools we use for self-organisation... Repost: @miss_anyuta_sakhalin Сегодня состоялась изумительная поездка на маяк Анива. Я восхищаюсь, как люди умеют создавать своими руками и как же ужасно когда разрушают с такой лёгкостью. Ведь Маяк Анива удивительная постройка на Сахалине. До него не просто добраться, а каких сил требовалось людям строивших это 9 этажное здание... Побывав на Маяке и смотря в разбитые окна, задумываешься, как же было прекрасно просыпаться каждое утро с таким видом из окна, когда маяк функционировал. Но это ещё не всё, что ждёт вас в путешествии. По пути обратно, был привал на мыс «Мраморный» Природа создаёт пищеры, белые камни, высокие горы, по которым вскарабкаться не так и просто. А ещё нас провожали нерпы😊 они высовывали свои мордочки и из любопытства подплывали к лодкам. Путешествие занимает целый день, но оно того стоит. 📎 OLYMPIC TRIATHLON .... COMPLETE! Well what a weekend. Soooo happy with life right now 😅🥰🤙🏼 Rocky turning one was just a lovely day. She has been the biggest highlight of this year but completing this triathlon (faster than Id planned AND enjoying it!) was something to always be proud of. If I do nothing else with my life I can look back at this year and think yep. I decided on something, I stuck with it and trained despite life challenges (pandemic, stuck at home, recovering from birth and having two young kids Total time (including transitions) = 03:13:00 1500km sea swim- 36mins (Transition 14:13) 40km WATT bike - 70mins (Transition 1min) 10km run - 64mins So taking away the VERY lengthy transitions (the beach was at least a 5min cycle away and the water way miles out😂🙈) I did it in under three hours which I am sooo proud of. The run was painful... I was in steuggsville!! But I enjoyed the process so much. I w joyed the struggle, and the achievement. Thank you to everyone who sent messages!!! 💜❤️❤️💜❤️💜 so much love.
