Viva la Pepa fue la primera telenovela estelar en la que participé y uno de los castings más memorables de mi vida.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ El casting fueron varias escenas juntas y diálogos de media página. Luego de días estudiando sentía que hacía falta ‘algo más’, así que cuando llegó mi turno me eché una botella de agua encima. En el texto decía: “está empapada y titiritando de frío”, ¡me dieron el personaje!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Fui Marianita López, la mejor amiga de Pepita; una de las protagonistas. El personaje creció mucho a lo largo de la historia y me permitió explorar el drama y la comedia. Era ocurrente y despreocupada, pícara y audaz, pero también tuvo una relación abusiva y tema con consumo de drogas. ¡Gracias Valenta por ver ‘algo en mi’ y regalarme más!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Recuerdo que adoraba ir a grabar. El elenco era increíble, me daba pudor trabajar entre tantos actores talentosos, aprendí mucho de ellos e hice buenos amigos también. Dirigía Olegario Barrera que engranaba todo bellamente con su ímpetu y amorosidad y el equipo técnico era precioso, había una chica camarógrafa que se llamaba Marina y era una rareza en la TV.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Pero el recuerdo más potente de este proyecto siempre será mi primer desnudo en televisión, porque además fue muy atípico: Corría topless alrededor de un árbol de la Escuela Naval gritando “¡Qué viva la libertad!” Al principio estaba muy nerviosa, pero una vez que me enfoqué en el trabajo entré en una especie de trance y me relajé. Al terminar, empapada y envuelta en la bata de baño que Mamá Patricia tenía ‘a tiro’ para mi (¡Gracias!), volví en mí y me encontré con la mirada curiosa de un montón de cadetes que desde lo alto del cerro miraban la escena.⁣⁣ Aquí se las comparto. 😉 ⁣⁣ ¡Un abrazo para todxs los que fueron parte! In this monthly series, Artsy’s Curatorial team features a group of five emerging and noteworthy artists who are working in a similar style or spirit as a well-known or established artist. This month, we focus on Banksy, the infamous street artist who has turned into a global phenomenon through his trademark style and penchant for dramatic and very public presentations of his work. Lady AIKO, is best recognized for her large-scale, colorful murals that merge popular Japanese and Western art styles. Born and raised in Tokyo, Lady AIKO moved to New York City in the mid-1990s, working as an apprentice for artist Takashi Murakami before going on to pursue her M.F.A in media studies at the New School. Later in the decade, Lady AIKO teamed up with artists Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller to form the artist collective known as FAILE. She worked with the collective for several years before branching off and establishing her solo career as Lady AIKO. Around that same time, she collaborated with Banksy for the production of his film “Exit Through the Gift Shop.” Working in the predominantly male field of street art, Lady AIKO established a style uniquely her own, painting mostly female figures and reclaiming the male gaze. Her heavily layered murals are the product of hundreds of hand-cut stencils, and draw on a range of influences from Japanese woodblock prints to graphic novels and pin-up art.
