In February @denavitch asked if she could make a music video for a song on my record and I did a mental touchdown dance because I secretly hoped she would. Tomorrow you can see it. 😭 She shot it on 16mm in our bedroom on a borrowed Bolex. Then began the ridiculously painstaking process of scratching and painting on each frame of film strip. She’d fire up her projector periodically to see what she thought of the work. It was so cool to see that analog workflow - you’re really committing to whatever you put down! Hard to fathom in this digital age but as you might expect the result couldn’t even be approximated in pixeltown. Dena is my partner, and I love her. As I write this she is (as she’s been for most of the last four months) about 5 feet away so I better keep it quick... when you end up sharing your airport ride with one of your biggest influence... the night before this picture, we were playing together @theoasisfest on casavoyager stage, I was scheduled right before him. The funny part is that I played a dj funk track with this vocal « pump that shit up, pump that shit up » maybe 30 minutes before the end of my set. DMX krew plugged his mpc and was ready to play, he gave me a sign to cut the music. At that moment two tracks were playing and I start to hear « pump that shit up pump that shit up », so I started being confused, I knew I already played the track a few minutes before, and couldn’t figure out where the sound was coming from. I then put all the faders down to zero and I am still hearing that vocal...felt like losing my mind...how was this possible??? When I look at dmx krew, i realize that he was already looking at me, smiling and giggling as it was actually him who was playing the vocal, that was loaded in his mpc. Сделал и что я в начале выкладывал? Как и все, то что понравится или какие то фотки из повседневной жизни. Как-то со временем так вышло что Инстаграм стал для меня персональным островом визуальной эстетики. Решил обнулиться и начать вести полноценный блог. Вдруг кто не знаком со мной, меня зовут Белоусов Эдуард. Мне 29 лет и в прошлом я отучился на учителя английского языка. Сейчас я занимаюсь видео/фотосъёмкой, а так же как отдельный вид искусства аэросъёмкой. Будучи меломаном оттачиваю скилы DJ. Кстати ещё относительно недавно начал увлекаться видео-маппингом и визуализацией. Для кого будет полезен мой блог: - Хотел бы качественное видео или фото для себя или продвижения своего дела. Любого формата и жанра. - Таким же меломанам как и я неограниченных рамками жанровых предпочтений. - В плане нетвокинга буду полезен тем кто организует культурно-массовые мероприятия и тем кому нужен визуальный контент. В общем и целом получается некая квинтэссенция фрилансера без постоянной монотонной занятости. Ive just released a tape: STRANGERS (accountants) STORIES (eyes) FROM (above) MY (voice) BEDROOM (my house) Music out of my pillow. I was very attracted by the idea of making music that was telling a mixture of other people’s stories rather than my own. Through a collage of sampled vocals coming from a variety of contexts - from house dubs to forgotten interviews - I found new lyrical meanings in the layering of words, voices and narratives, and it all came together on my bed during this time of isolation. Its been a rough 6 months for the world, and for the travel industry especially, so we wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate our excellent team here at H&T (which is sadly smaller than it used to be). Raúl is our longest serving team member, having joined the company way back in 2014. Originally from Toledo in Spain, Raul has made Argentina his home, even choosing to a add an extra little Argentine to his life, his beautiful daughter Cami 😍. Raul handles European and UK adventure travel sales, something he knows plenty about after countless trips throughout Argentina, including trekking in deepest darkest Patagonia and road trips in the Andean puna of Catamarca. We will be showcasing some of his photos over the next few days. Pose. You dont get it. Its all very well talking about bodies that change, about shapes and silhouettes. Conversations about expansions and spread, but I wonder, have you ever lived in a body so fat that people stopped and stared? So big that you couldnt get through doorways? I remember being in a dark bacement when my wheelchair services tech told me I was so fat he couldnt make me a wheelchair to fit. And the time, after being told my swallow was unsafe, my Gastroentorologist told me I was so fat he would never fit a feeding tube, ever. I remember the shame of waiting for specialist lifting equipment, the glances across wards when it was time to turn me. These posts I see circulating again of late are fucking exhausting. Beautiful, thin, white women, often well toned, bronzed and hairless make cute videos of theyre poochy belly when they turn in a certain way. Weve all see them before, this kind of bullshit body positivity that is the antipitist of why marginalised bodies are no longer safe in this (so called) community. If you subscribe to that. If youre here to feel better about your little bit of back fat, please go. I just cant. I want to see radical. I want to see people like me, I want to see not like me, I want to see all the bodies Ill never see anywhere else. I want my Explore page to be filled with outspoken fat activists. I want raw and real. This space is built on me sharing my pain, darkness, the traumas Ive survived, almost all rooted in my body. This is a space where people whove been hidden in the darkness, outcast to the fringes because of their physicality can find at least some fucking solidarity.
