Hice una cámara oscura, es decir, tuve que tapar todo lugar en donde se infiltraba luz a excepción de un pequeño orificio donde la imagen es reflejada a la inversa conservando su color. Hoy hizo bastante sol y la diferencia es notable. Además jugué un poco con sombras y mis manos. La experiencia es bastante linda, estar escuchando música mientras expongo de 30 a 60 segundos, ver carros, personas y animales pasar por el techo (y a la inversa) es un entusiasmo que no puedo describir, no había vivido esta experiencia hasta hace 2 días que me aventuré a probar cosas nuevas. Recognizing the challenges people are facing each day during such uncertain and sensitive times. It seems progress is being made thanks to the many individuals doing what is necessary to overcome these battles. Our team took our own step in the right direction today with our first successful training camp @mtbachelor in the books after a long hiatus off snow. Skiing💘 Unexpectedly this race season came to an early end and since a while back I came to the conclusion that this was my last one. It’s been a rollercoaster these past years and I have so much to thank ski racing for during this time. I am so so happy and thankful for all the friends I’ve got and all the experience I’ve gained. Everyone that has supported me to continue in trying to reach my goals, thanks for believing in me💖 I don’t have the spark and fire to continue and push trough the barriers in my mind. As the years have gone by I’ve built an awareness of the risks in our sport, and as much as I love to go fast and clean that awareness has gotten bigger than the will to win. I didn’t reach all my goals, but I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. Especially of all my comebacks. As you go through a career you kind of forget where you set your goals along the way, and if I would’ve told the 12 year old me that I’m going to make it to the national team and race in the biggest league I wouldn’t have believed me. 🌹Hood photos LIVE on @snowboardermag 🌹~Link in bio~ . . . I noticed this reflection of @yukikadono blasting over this qp transfer last second and got pretty lucky it worked out. I wanted to shoot Yuki’s run-in wide and his Indy with my long lense so I had that camera ready to go on top of my camera bag. Yuki comes mobbin in, I turn to shoot with my wide angle, catch my eye on the perfectly reflected qp in the ND filter of my long lense, boom..bailed on the long lense shot and this is what I got instead. Thought it was worth a quick story, plus I wanted to post the raw photo so you could see what I saw. I don’t know, it was all overexposed and uncoordinated but hey tried to make the most of it 😂 . . . One of the things about Sheepshead is that were high in elevation. The cabin sits at 12,000 ft and the peaks around us are 13,000 ft. So when an early or late season storm rolls through with high elevation snow levels, we still get it. These pics are from Thursday and Friday this week (Sept 10,11). It wasnt crazy deep, but it was really set up, making for some good turns and good sledding to get around. Back to Mid 70 degree temps today. (1) This is how, in 1992, an Everest summit picture taken with a disposable Fuji Quicksnap camera looked. As it is the only picture I have of my few minutes on the highest point of the planet, I‘m very happy about it - especially as it was taken and given as a present by the late Sonam Thsering Sherpa. After taking the sequence of photos of Sonam climbing to the summit of Everest (see my last post), the battery of my SLR camera was empty. Since 1992, I have tried another seven times to climb Everest without supplemental oxygen - never successfully. My last attempt was in spring 2017 when I had to turn back at 8,580 m because of wind, snowfall, and cold. (2) The second picture in the series was one of the last I took with my big camera - seconds before Sonam arrived - and it is of the summit tripod which was placed by a big French expedition just a few days prior. The photo shows both the strong wind we had and the reflectors on the tripod which were to be used for a laser-measurement of the height of Everest. . . . . . U.S Men’s World Cup speed skier, Wiley “Danger” Maple (@wcmaple), is officially calling it a career. I had the chance to meet Wiley two years ago while racing in the @usalpinemasters FIS Masters/Western Regional events at @aspensnowmass . He showed up to the DH race. He is younger than me, and I was running DFL, so they slotted him in right after me. The rush, excitement, and terror of having a World Cup racer right behind me in a DH race at Aspen is something I’ll never forget. DH intervals are 60 seconds, but they gave him a second interval just to make sure he wouldn’t catch me 😂. He ended up beating me by around 20 seconds!! 😬🤷♂️ A lot of people knew him, but you would have no idea he was on the World Cup (besides his finish time). 😉 He was just a regular dude, talking with anyone who wanted to chat. He told us stories about some of his races, specifically the time he got yellow flagged while on course at the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbuhel and had to go back to the top to run it again. (Yea, I’m good!). Sounds like he’s sticking around Aspen so maybe we’ll see him at a Masters race again. Congrats on a wild, fun, and crazy career! - @nems_racing on Instagram

The 27th Annual Utah Avalanche Center Backcountry Benefit is tonight from 6–10pm. This virtual event is the major fundraiser for @utavy. Alta is the birthplace of avalanche research and mitigation in the United States. Early snow studies from Monty Atwater, Ed LaChapelle, and the US Forest Service Snow Ranger program evolved into the Utah Avalanche Center we know today. Officially formed in the winter of 1980-81, the UAC creates daily avalanche forecasts for the Wasatch Mountains and the rest of Utah. Each year @utavy leads invaluable avalanche education courses and creates educational videos for a wide range of skiers, snowboarders, snowmobilers and other winter sports enthusiasts. We are anticipating a busy winter with potential record numbers of skiers in the backcountry. You have a few hours left to wrap up the workday and support the UAC (virtual) fundraising event tonight.
