I botched qualifying for us pretty bad. The lack of practice time with our condensed race weekends really hurts me with this being my first season driving a rear engine car at this level. It’s all good. I take it on the chin, and will keep pushing forward to get quicker with every lap. We have a lot of work to do in the race, but I’ll enjoy every minute of it. This is all just another step in the ladder to where we are going. The Earnest-supported @hpa101 team are contesting the South Island Endurance Series here in New Zealand this season. With a super-tight deadline to get the 600hp at-the-wheels Toyota 86 ready for the season opener, the car was ready to go with half a day to spare — and thats when things went pear-shaped. All signs were pointing to a very fast car and a good result, but an engine failure just before lunch on the first day cut things short. They say every failure is a lesson, but thats still got to sting! The team are already well on their way towards diagnosing the issue with the Nissan SR20VET and will be back better than ever for round two in a couple of weeks. Notre aventure commune a débuté il y a plus de 7 ans. On sest rencontré sur un circuit, je parlais de trajectoire, Yves-Marie écoutait, je lui ai donné un coup main sur son pilotage et on a accroché. Depuis, je porte le logo HAS sur mon casque, avec véritable attachement. Cest le symbole dun lien fort autour de valeurs sur lesquelles on se retrouve : technicité, qualité, rigeur, performance mais aussi engagement, détermination, courage, dépassement de soi, esprit déquipe ou respect. Le sport de haut niveau, que connaît Yves-Marie, et le monde de lentreprise partage de nombreux points communs. Notamment la matière 1ére : lhumain. Anyone who says @cota_official is a lousy place to shoot isn’t trying hard enough. Sure, it’s difficult compared to many circuits (thank you, F1, and other unwitting conspirators). There are limits, boundaries to be overcome. It requires experience, effort and creativity, seeing things that don’t exist, and like any event, pre-planning. Some event organizers open up areas of CotA that are red zones in other series. This makes the work easier, I agree of course, but still, one must compose, create, and use foresight. Yesterday did not go how we imagined, but it ended with a top 10! We suffered what looked like major damage after getting caught up in a wreck in front of us then got towed back to the pits and the crew went to work. After a lot of pulled plastic and hammering we were able to get back out on the track thanks to some awesome foresight by our crew chief. We weren’t the most aerodynamic car out there and definitely not the prettiest, but we were able to finish and did it surprisingly quickly. Some of the fastest laps I turned yesterday were post-wreck! Big thanks to my awesome team who never gave up when things looked down. We finished 14th after an alternator failure late at night. This race is always challenging, but this year was a whole new level of difficulty, especially mentally. Once you lose sight of a good result everything becomes ten times more exhausting. No matter how resilient you are, when you’re a lot of laps down it is hard to find the energy to keep going at full pace. The challenge then is to finish the race as if you are still competing for the win. I can say that as a team we conquered that lazy feeling, though it wasn’t easy. At least we can be proud of overcoming this tough challenge together. There are things that all of us can still improve, but in the end I am thankful to have had another shot at success in this race with @unitedautosports and the #32 crew. - @wowen23 on Instagram

This past week has been a roller coaster of emotions with turning 30. Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their day to wish me a happy birthday! The past week I’ve been reminded of all the accomplishments my 20s brought to me. I started my actual birthday doing something I love; teaching nursing. Even though my students embarrassed me and sang in the cafeteria, making them excited for their future career is a honor. After teaching, I got to come home to the beautiful house I built with my husband which reminds me of all our hard work and dedication to each other for the life we built. It makes me excited for what the next decade may bring for us. My husband surprised me with a night out on the town with my bestest of friends (C+J) to celebrate our friendship over the years (thanks to Marla’s cottage). Finally, unwinding and relaxing in Barbados has helped me reflect on the past which is makes me look forward to what the future holds. This is 30! [Nurburgring - Race 🏁] - A tough race for us. We started quite far down on the grid, and of course our aim was to climb back up. In the end we gained 13 places, but were not 100% satisfied with the result. After a good start, Romano avoided the crashes in front of him and immediately gained 6 places. After that, I did my first stint, before finishing the last hour of the race. I was never able to push the car like the previous day. There was also quite a bit of understeer so I had to wrestle with the steering wheel to point myself in the right direction. Hotter temperatures than the previous day definitely changed the cars handling... We finished 29th, and 8/13 in Pro AM class We are still learning. Just finished up this 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Roll Cage. This car is built for road-racing with a ton of footwork done and a fully-built motor. I can’t wait for @thomas_coffin_284 to feel super safe and confident the next time he hits the track. This is 1.50” x 120 DOM tubing with A-pillar gusset tubes, anti intrusion tubes, a rear diagonal down tube and Tig welded boxes. I landed the rear down-tubes to the frame rail sheet metal that also attaches to the strut mounts and rear subframe. This car doesn’t have strut “towers” so I wanted to land where I felt would be safest. I am very happy with this and am looking forward to Tom racing this unique track car. I’m quite happy with how I qualified. If you look at where we are, P42 on the grid (after adding up the times of the three drivers), were a little bit disappointed. In the end though, we are only 2 tenths down on 4th in category and we could have easily been closer. 😶 Not easy to have a decent lap with so much traffic about. The cold weather didnt help getting the tyres up to temperature either so we lost a few tenths here and there. Finished up this sweet Honda Civic roll-cage last week for @c.vera_p1 @project_one_motorsport to compete in @hondachallenge and @globaltimeattack I had a ton of fun with this one because i’ve never built a cage for a serious Civic before! It has fully wrapped strut towers, x-tubes for the door, a diagonal rear down tube, dash tube to fit the OEM column and anti-intrusion tubes. All tubes land together at their intersections. It is made from 1.50” DOM with Tig welded tube landings for the floor. This thing fits super tight and is gives plenty of space for the driver. All tubes were mig welded and compliant to the series rulebooks. We also added a window net and rear tube bumper! Please contact @onemotiongarage for all inquiries!
