Another incredible year of flying. This year I went from being a Private Pilot to getting paid to fly small airplanes all over the country. I flew nearly 575 hours this year. From a 3800’ grass runway in the middle of nowhere Kansas, to a runway 8380’ high in a Rocky Mountain Valley, and ski jump departures from a private resort in PA, epic new airports were found. It wasn’t only the airports that made this year amazing, but new flying experiences. I was able to fly over some of the most amazing terrain America has to offer. I’ve continued to meet awesome people in this industry, many of which have become amazing friends. Its an incredible privilege to be able to do what I’ve always dreamed of, I can’t wait to see where the next adventure takes me. - @jmhudso3 on Instagram

This map was submitted to Congress in 1922 to support an anti-lynching bill, H. R. 13, introduced by Representative Leonidas Dyer of Missouri. The Dyer bill had already passed in the House and awaited a vote in the Senate. The map was created by a leader in the anti-lynching crusade, Ida B. Wells-Barnett. Issued by the Colored Women’s Clubs of Michigan, the “Red Record” shows the distribution of lynchings by state and specifically calls out Northern congressmen who voted against the Dyer bill. Dyer reintroduced the measure in each new Congress during the 1920s to no avail. Nearly 200 anti-lynching bills were introduced in Congress during the first half of the 20th century alone.
