We are so excited to announce our Miracle Baby Girl is due February 2021!! 🌸 Our first ultrasound we were so excited to see this sweet one for the first time. With Covid, pregnancy appointments are everything but normal. While Zac waited patiently in the car FaceTiming me as I could be the only one at the appointment, our world came crashing down when we were told our precious baby had died. With pain in our hearts, we knew God was still good & declared it as we drove off into the mountains to seek peace, grieve together & process our loss. Still praising Jesus for the gift of carrying this little life for the time I did, we also experienced a great depth of sorrow from knowing our baby wasn’t alive. After several doctors appointments, it was confirmed this was NOT a viable pregnancy & had scheduled a surgery to remove it. The day before our surgery, we requested to see our baby on an ultrasound one more time. We knew God was a God of miracles but we also made peace that in His arms was the safest place for our baby to be. AND by the grace of God & the prayers of many who were praying; there it was, our babies HEARTBEAT. A perfectly beating heart, strong and loud! With tears in our eyes & our ultrasound techs eyes, we knew this was nothing short of a miracle!!!! Our doctor who delivered our original sad news had said in all her years she’s never seen something like this - “ this is truly a miracle“. We praise Jesus every day for this sweet baby girl, she surely has already changed our lives for the better. One thing we will never forget, is the moment of deep loss of our child, a feeling I wish on no one but know so many walk that journey. My heart aches with you sisters 💗 We also will never forget hearing that heartbeat of LIFE. A beautiful sign of Gods wonder. Us & our doctors might not ever understand medically how this happened & that’s okay. We know our Heavenly Father smiles down knowing He has bigger plans for this baby girl & we are grateful to be her parents!! I love this photo. I love the way my body looks. Positive self-acceptance for me, a lot of the time, includes taking and sharing photos where I am at my most natural, (stomach rolls, no make-up, stretch marks) and in the moment. It helps me learn to love every inch of this body and I know it can be helpful to y’all on the other end seeing those! On the other side, there is no shame in seeing photos that make you feel HOT (ha). Yesterday I celebrated 10 years of marriage with this hunk, and while weve certainly had our more epic trip locations (just look at the Santorini version of us!), getting to soak up a quiet, peaceful day with our two girls in a slow beach town was the perfect benchmark on a decade of marriage. We arrived on a day where lots of things seemed to be going awry from our rental to our childrens attitudes and that night after I had nearly wrestled my off-spring into bed I asked Shawn with desperation to save the 10-year anniversary memories what can we do to turn this trip around? ...and so we made a plan. The next day we woke up for sunrise, we threw the schedule out the window, and we grabbed takeout + ice cream from two of the lovelies, tastiest spots Ive tried. We rolled down hills, and walked in the rain, and flew kites and chased a sunset in the car. After 14 years together, I think this salvaged 10th anniversary was the best explanation of marriage that I can give. Its mostly fun, and always rewarding, but can take hard work to keep it that way. 24. Few days late for a birthday post but 24 has been pretty busy so far... - I’ve been reflecting on 23 and the incredible adventure it was and how incredibly hard it was. I saw whole families come to know Jesus in persecuted countries. I was able to be a part of distributing God’s word in some of the most closed countries in the world. I got the honor of fellowshipping with believers whose churches had been bombed, who had fled terror regimes, who were the sole Christians in their tribe, who lived in monasteries in the mountains. I saw Jesus heal Taoists, Buddhists, monks, Hindus, Muslims. I was welcomed in to mosques, temples, and people’s homes. I was able to disciple people while being discipled. I was challenged to live in community and love the Church like Christ does. I was sharpened by my friends through friction and became more like family. I mourned the loss of family. I was separated from my beloved and longed for her daily. I wrestled with God and walked through seasons of silence with Him. I also communed with Him in depths I’ve never known. I was given new fire, new fervor, new hunger, new passion, new vision. I mourned the loss of the nations while rejoicing at the reunion with my bride. I struggled with loneliness, isolation, restlessness, purposelessness, and still do. But Christ sustains me. My now wife supports me. His promises never fail. He has spoken and it will be done. Hope everyone had a nice LDW! I’ve been soaking up the last of summer with family and friends, and trying to disconnect from social media as much as possible. I’ll be back at it this week and going forward with a lot to post / share and some exciting updates... For starters, I quit my job in investment banking last week to pursue my passion in the wellness / sustainability space - tbd in what capacity this will be, but I’ve got lots of research to do! (Note to self: money can’t buy happiness) I’ve been studying holistic nutrition at IIN (since May) and I’m finally available to work with people 1-on-1 to improve health concerns. I’m planning to do personalized coaching, workout plans, meal plans, grocery lists, ED recovery guidance, healthy weight support, etc. I’m flexible and can tailor to what you need, so DM if interested! #WhyISaidYes “I am a content creator and was told by my best friend (who planned this with my fiance Matt), that her friend wanted to interview me for his company Disrupters. They interview entrepreneurs disrupting the Health & Fitness industry. My friend Hannah and my mom told me I should book a blowout since I was getting headshots taken and Hannah picked out my outfit a few days before. Meanwhile, Matt told me he was going to his Dads for the weekend in Jersey so I wouldnt suspect anything. My mom and I are very close and made sure she turned off her phone location and had an alibi for the weekend as well. Meanwhile, she was on her way to the city Friday night with her best friend. Saturday morning, Matt & I woke up around 8 AM. He showered and left with his packed bag for the weekend, where he really went to Hannahs apartment to get ready. I left my apartment around 9:30 AM for my hair appt. After I got my hair done, Hannah and her boyfriend Robbie picked me up in her car around 10:30 AM and drove me to Brooklyn for the 11 AM shoot. Hannah and I arrived a few minutes early so she tried to distract me by taking selfies with me. We started to walk towards the carousel by the water in Dumbo. As we approached it, I could see Matt in the distance wearing a blazer and I started to know what was happening. I turned to Hannah and said thats Matt, whats going on, shut up she starts saying thats not Matt, were meeting Brandon. But as soon as I saw him I knew and walked towards him with excitement. I then saw my friend Wini, who is a photographer I work with in the city for my content. I was so excited that I actually tripped down a step. I walked toward him and said what are you doing here? he said you know what Im doing here. I think we both blacked out but I just remember it being so be remember it being so beautiful and we both were crying. I couldnt believe they did all of this for me, I feel so grateful and lucky to be so loved by my friends and family. BIG NEWS... WE’RE MOVING! Here’s a low-quality throwback picture to eight years ago when my husband and I were looking like babies and celebrating our one year anniversary at the “top of the rock” in NYC. I fell in love with New York during that visit and have visited numerous times since. A few months ago, an opportunity presented itself for my husband to interview for a position at his firm’s national office. When he asked me if we should consider, my immediate response was YES! Well... we are moving to the greater NYC area by July 1! I am feeling both nervous and excited for the future of my business. Actually, I have all the feels. So many emotions. Over the past 4 years, I’ve built relationships with my clients and other creatives that I will cherish the rest of my life. Kentucky has always been my home and Louisville will always feel like home. Today is the dream rooftop weather and whilst I wish I was going to one this evening I can’t complain too much as I’m going to a wine tasting this eve 😏. Coq d’Argent is one of my favourite rooftop bars for a few reasons, it’s quite relaxed up there in terms and vibe, the entrance is somewhat hidden so you feel like you’ve stumbled across something secret and exciting and most of all this spectacular view. It shares pretty much the same view as the private members rooftop of The Ned except I’m a peasant and can’t get up there and they also have great cocktails at reasonable prices considering views and location. We didn’t book to have drinks we just turned up, but you can book to eat in the restaurant and to do their Rosé on the roof brunch. P.s the leggings I got from topshop as inspired by @freyakillin no longer smell and are so comfortable. Yesterday I was supposed to marry this man and today I was supposed to wake up a wifey. While I have been flooded with so many emotions I have come to realize that this has been such a blessing to us and will make our future wedding day so. much. sweeter. Last night was a red dress and ‘tini kind of Friday 💃🏼🍸 but swipe for reality (price tag) because I didn’t know if I wanted to keep the dress 😂🤷🏼♀️ I know it’s said often, but based on how I’ve been feeling lately I wanted to share a reminder again: Instagram shows only a tiny snippet of what’s going on in someone’s life (hence very small example of the price tag 🔖🤓). Last night was a perfect Friday - and so thankful for it! But I can tell you that many of my nights this month have looked a lot different. I won’t go into detail at the moment, but even in the joy of yesterday I was thinking about how unfair it is that we often make our assumptions about someone’s life based on seeing just minutes of the day through stories or even simply a static post. It’s not the full picture and never will be. Don’t let yourself determine your worth or happiness based on what you see here. Remind yourself of this more often! I’m going to do the same. It’s been one long HARD parenting week.. I’m trying to keep the vibes high & feel all the Long Weekend Feels✨ Yet when your a mama & a business owner everyday kinda feels like the same day, right!? 🤩 It’s been a challenging week during this 2-1 nap transition. After a consultation with a sleep expert (to get some more info, advice & confidence), it started off okay by extending the first nap by 15min every 3 days, then we made it to a 10:30am first nap and after a few days, it was downhill from there, fussy, cranky, overtired that led to either no afternoon nap with a early bedtime, night wakings &/or super early morning wake ups at 5:30am 🤪 I felt like I was right back in the sleep deprived newborn stages... so I listened to my intuition and pulled a full stop, back to reading sleepy cues doing 2 naps if that’s what he needs and we’ll try the transition another time. With this, lack of sleep, family adventures & work its been a longgg week. There’s been fights, tears, anxiety & all the emotions that come along with parenting.
