Unfortunately, my Ripple Camisole (bottom) fits very strangely. It’s my own fault -- my work was tighter than gauge and it stretches great, but the straps fall in a weird spot and are too short. I’m trying to work up the energy to rip out the kitchener and add some length to the straps to see if it fixes the fit, but kitchener is my kryptonite [laugh emoji]! As I mentioned in my stories earlier this week, I moved out of my downtown LA studio. I now have everything at my home studio and I need to make some space! So I’m going to be hosting sample sales throughout the month on my stories. The profits from these sales will be donated to a revolving door of organizations focusing on celebrating & protecting the Black community, as well as those addressing the human rights crisis at the US/Mexico borders. Before each sample sale I will announce which organization will be receiving the profits. We often get asked the difference between the Submariner and the Diver. Here goes. The Submariner was the first ever jumper we made, back when NSC began. It is strongly based on the Royal Navy War issue jumper, with its drop shoulder style (so the shoulder seam sits a little way down the arm), 5 gauge knit and British wool. The Diver is our NSC alternative to the Vintage style of the Sub. We still use British wool for all our knitwear, but the Diver is a chunkier knit, with a slightly wider roll neck, and an inset sleeve (so the shoulder seam sits directly on top of the shoulder). See the different length of the shoulder seams? Along with a curved arm hole, this gives the Diver a more streamline, contemporary fit. Hope that helps clear things up. I got so excited when I saw the prompt for #creativerootsweek3 in the #creativerootschallenge from @knitbrooks and @jbkcrochet which is all about organization. ⁣ ⁣ I have always been an extremely organized person. Staying organized helps me feel calm and in control. In addition to being a highly organized person, I am into visuals and aesthetics. I don’t organize everything by color, but my yarn and my closet are both definite yeses (don’t ask me why the finished objects on top aren’t organized by color - my brain is weird)! Having my yarn organized this way helps me see everything I have at once, and to be able to easily pair different colors together. I have considered organizing my yarn by weight, but I know that it would make me feel chaotic, so I am sticking with the color route. ⁣ ⁣ In terms of organizing other things in my life, I am an obsessive list maker - I will make a list for any and everything possible. If I am working on something that requires a more complicated list, I will make a Google Sheet (basically an Excel sheet). For my blog planning and research I have a sheet but it has about 10 different tabs for different topics, and within those tabs everything is color coded. If I have ever tested a pattern for you then you know I have a specific way of formatting my notes. I use the app Preview to organize and plan my future IG posts, and it is a lifesaver. ⁣ ⁣ I know that being obsessively organized and planning things out likely creates a false sense of control, but I am not hurting anybody and it makes me feel good so I will continue to do so! Also, I know it can be so easy to compare ourselves to each, but just know that the way you live your life is what’s best for you!
