𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚 🤍 This post is a little different from what you’ve seen so far, but I thought I’d take the time to introduce myself and let you get to know a little more about me. So with out further ado, enjoy 10 Facts About Me💫 𝟭.I’m 23 years old and a stereotypical Capricorn (sorry) 𝟮. I’m engaged 💍. However thanks to COVID19 my wedding plans are very much on pause 🤪 𝟯. I eat an almost entirely plant based diet (with the exception of cheese) 🌱 𝟰. I was diagnosed with a wheat allergy at 17 so have just a couple of restrictions when it comes to food (hello everything gluten free) 𝟱. I’m studying a Bachelor of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. I’ve always had a huge interest in health and wellbeing - although out of school initially started studying an Education Law Double degree, then transferred to Bachelor of Dentistry and here we are now (my true calling, trust me) 𝟲. I’ve been a barista for 5 years but don’t actually like coffee (forgive me, please 😂) I am however a sucker for a good vegan hot choc or chai 🤤 𝟳. I live in Melbourne, Australia- but grew up all around Aus. (Totalled 9 different schools before finishing grade 12 🤪) 𝟴. My big loves all encompass the outdoors, on a sunny day off you’ll likely catch me anywhere from a 15km hike to a big brunch then beach day (pre-covid of course 🥺) 𝟵. Growing up I competitively competed in a ton of sport, from soccer to netball and 400m athletics events. I’m still a very active gal, who works out almost daily. But in a much more relaxed environment, my fave ways to get my body moving are lifting weights, HIIT classes and calisthenics (also love big long walks for my mental health 💫) 𝟭𝟬. I’m a homebody who craves a calming and personal aspect to my space/environment. My attitude and mood is often a direct representation of the space I’m in. But also have been bitten by the travel bug. Next on the list post-covid is Italy, Germany and Switzerland(+ whatever else we can squeeze in ✈️). I hope you enjoyed reading! A few days ago I was in the kitchen and I saw my reflection in the oven and without thinking I bursted out “holy crap I’m ugly, what’s happened to me” and right as I said those words I heard another little voice behind me answering “mom no, you’re beautiful” . . I turned around and found me daughter sitting at the kitchen counter and I looked at her and said “I’m so sorry baby I didn’t mean that, I don’t know why I said that” She smiled and we went on with our day. . . But yesterday I heard my daughter say the same thing about herself from the hallway as she looked at herself in the mirror, my beautiful daughter said “I am a o ugly” . . My heart skipped a beat, I walked up to her and explained that she’s the most beautiful girl in the world, inside and out, she’s strong and funny and there is not a single thing ugly about her. . . But I knew she said what she said because she had heard me talking about myself that way a few days earlier, she had heard me talking about myself negatively and since I’m her teacher I learned her that it was OK. Just by that simple act, I had taught her about self hate. . . I will never talk about myself that way again, because hearing my daughter talk that way about herself broke my heart and if what she said hurt me that much, I can’t begin to understand why I would talk to myself that way, why I’ve normalized bashing myself down when it breaks my heart to hear others talk about them that way. . . Hello 17 weeks 💗 The last three months have been the hardest of my life. I hate to play the victim but I’ve been struggling. Mentally, emotionally and physically. I’m not looking for sympathy I just want to share this journey and the realness of it. My body has gone through the most dramatic changes of its life. On Wednesdays, we read...wear...drink(!?!) pink! 🦩 This week, I read this wonderful book, and it honestly just made me so happy! The Black Flamingo follows Michael from childhood to university, a protagonist who is constantly struggling with his identity. He never feels like he fits in; at home, at school and then at university. His home life was a struggle due to his father being absent, and him not feeling like he had a strong connection to his mother (although you could tell it was there), but when he goes to university, he finds his place. His place to be anyone that he wants, and just show the world how he, The Black Flamingo, wants to be seen! This stunner is also written in verse, which is different to what I’m used to, but it was an incredibly fast and enjoyable read. I actually read this in a few hours on Sunday. Ich würde sagen, Spiritualität oder auch „Spiritual Selfcare“ kann viele verschiedene Definitionen haben, die für jeden anders sein können. Es kann sich auf Glaube & Religion beziehen, aber auch auf die Natur, Musik, Kunst und Bewegung. Egal auf welche Art und Weise man seine Spiritualität auslebt, erfüllt sie das Bedürfnis nach Verbundenheit, Lebenssinn und Glück. Letztendlich verbindet man sich durch „Spiritual Selfcare“ mit seinem wahren Ich, also wer man wirklich ist, was man wirklich will und wie man sich wirklich fühlt. Diese Verbindung zu sich selbst kann einem helfen, die Beziehungen zu anderen, aber auch zu sich selbst zu verbessern und sich seinen eigenen Bedürfnissen bewusst zu werden und inneren Frieden zu finden. Hier habe ich einen kleine „Spiritual-Selfcare-Guide“ für dich zusammengestellt: Yoga Durch Yoga ist es möglich, sich selbst zu harmonisieren, sprich Körper und Seele zu verbinden. Es hilft dir, dich mit deinem Körper und deinen Emotionen zu verbinden, Ruhe zu finden und ehrlich zu dir selbst zu sein. Was mir am Yoga besonders gefällt, ist, dass Selbstakzeptanz von großer Bedeutung ist und man lernt, dass der aktuelle Standpunkt, an dem man sich befindet, genau der richtige ist. Meditation Meditation ist nicht jedermanns Sache und bedarf definitiv Übung. Auch bei der Meditation kann man zur Ruhe kommen und sich mit seinem „wahren Ich“ verbinden. Spazieren Achtsame Spaziergänge in der Natur werden oft unterschätzt. Ich bin froh, einen Hund zu haben, mit dem ich tagtäglich wundervolle Spaziergänge machen kann und somit die Welt für eine gewisse Zeit auf Pause drücken kann. Den immer anders aussehenden Himmel, die Wälder und Felder wahrzunehmen ist etwas unglaublich schönes! Journaling Ebenfalls zu meinen Favoriten gehört Journaling. Das bedeutet, seine Gefühle, Fortschritte und Ziele niederzuschreiben und so das Chaos im Kopf etwas zu sortieren. ✨ℙ𝕊𝟜 ℂ𝕠𝕠𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕊𝕥𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕓𝕪 𝕆𝕀𝕍𝕆✨ Here’s a little follow up post about the PS4 Cooling stand I was kindly sent by @oivogames to test. Since using the cooling stand the noise has decreased & honestly, my PS doesn’t feel as hot which I’m really impressed about. I need to move a few things about to get settled as I usually lay my PS down due to spacing, and I do like to hid things away. But anyway here’s some info: The stand also comes with a detachable adapter for the Slim and a USB cable to connect the PS to the stand. As you can see there are 2 controller charger slots, they have a red and green LED light system. (The controllers charge as soon as the PS is switched on) The lights are such a nice little feature. I love that there are no wires trailing around the place. Charging has never looked so neat & tidy. Speaking of neat and tidy, behind there are also 12 handy game slots. The stand has 2 fans that light up blue while working which is a nice touch. There is a small button to start the fans, which are ever so quiet. ➡️(Swipe to see the fans in action) Thankyou @oivogames for sending this through to me. I love to test and try new products. Let’s talk SELF-TALK ✨ How you speak TO and ABOUT yourself matters! Each thought spoken, negative or positive, is essentially you affirming something to yourself. Over time your mind will adopt whatever you’re affirming consistently and take it as the truth, regardless of whether it’s positive or negative 😳 So... how are you speaking to and about yourself? Are you speaking with kindness, gratitude and love? Or are you tearing yourself down with negativity and harshness? Negative self-talk can become a deeply ingrained habit.. trust me, I know 😬 but it’s something I’m actively working on and using positive affirmative statements is one of my favorite ways to reprogram my mind to lean into uplifting and productive thoughts instead of old unproductive limiting beliefs. Daily affirmations are simple, positive statements declaring specific goals in their completed states. Although they sound rather basic at that level, these empowering mantras have profound effects on the conscious and subconscious mind! Repeating affirmations help eliminate negative and limiting beliefs and with consistency can transform your comfort zone from a limited one keeping you trapped in mediocrity to a more expanded one where anything is possible 🙌🏼 I’m currently working with 3 affirmations: ✨I am confident, strong, abundant and calm ✨I love my body and all she does for me ✨I have the power to change I’d love for you to share a positive affirmation below in a comment! I never really talk about this. Maybe because I am a very optimistic person or maybe I don’t like to talk about my insecurities (who does?). It took me 5 years to feel comfortable in my own body again. It is crazy what 1 toxic relationship can do for your self image, self worth and overall health. I don’t think I have ever shared this but I haven’t felt myself for so many years. I was disconnected from my own body for a long time up to the point where I couldn’t enjoy the things that I should FULLY enjoy. I got an MRI scan, tried different types of birth control (ugh), talked to my friends but nothing seemed to help. Until I realized I needed self healing. For me that was also a spiritual journey (not an easy one either). Not being able to connect with your own body, not understanding the pain or discomfort is so hard and mentally exhausting. After 5 years I can finally say that I feel better now. I feel like myself again. I know so so many girls and women will experience the same after abuse so I am letting you know: you are NOT alone, what you experience is normal and you are not crazy. Be good to yourself and also know that I am always here for you. I have hip dips and it is completely natural to, despite what social media makes you think!!😳 I am so so sick of seeing ‘How to get rid of hip dips’ or ‘How to fix your hips dips’... The hip is meant to have a dip where the head of the femur is, so if you don’t have alot of body fat in that area, you will have a dip in your hips and that is completely ok!🥰 I have hip dips and for a while I was really hard on myself and was desperate to get rid of them! Please remember next time you look in the mirror and compare yourself to these influencers, that the majority of them are either posing or have had surgery/filler to give them that hour glass figure! Mezcla las harinas y la levadura. 2. Agrega los huevos, la bebida vegetal, aceite de oliva el endulzante y mezcla bien.⠀ 3. Añade el calabacín rallado y remueve. 4. It seems like everybody and their momma got a peloton bike when quarantine hit, and I totally tried to talk @davidcoephoto into one too. But I’ve been working so hard on making our home aesthetically pleasing- and in a two bedroom condo, there wasn’t a spot where it wouldn’t be an eyesore, imho.🤷🏽‍♀️ So I decided to go my own way- combed through reviews to find a good *folding* spin bike, and I love love LOVE that I can roll it out of the way, or fold it up and stash in a closet with ease. It’s so easy to stream the @peloton app to the tv when I want to do a class or ride with friends. David’s swapping the cage pedals for clips so I can wear my spin shoes, and I have a heart rate and cadence monitor ordered... All that to say, I’m so pleased with this little setup (and how budgetfriendly it is!) so I wanted to share it with y’all! HOW I WISH I WAS CHILLING IN BED TONIGHT VS ME DYING IN BED TONIGHT 💀 The big P has come back and she is RAGING😤 OH HELL, I forgot how much my periods interfere with my life🩸 I’ve been period-free for 3 months (still for an unknown reason but don’t worry I’m figuring it out!) I feel kinda scared opening up about things like this online but I think it’s so important to share our experiences so that we can educate and learn from each other! I don’t want any other woman or girl sat alone thinking they can’t open up about their menstruation, how it feels or whether they feel something may be wrong with their cycle. I’m gonna go into a lot more detail when I chat on my IGTV but my menstruation journey has been a whirlwind, a storm and an absolute shit show⛈💩 I started my period when I was 9 years old in primary school with little to no education on what was going on with my body🤷🏻‍♀️I started puberty early, I was called names because my body grew quicker than the other children in my year and felt pressure to be quiet, and not openly discuss my period. After experiencing excruciating pains throughout secondary school, I missed class, attended several doctors appointments and ran around in circles trying to find a contraceptive pill that would tame my period. All these hormones going in and out of body for year and years, as you can imagine, did not end well🥶🥶 I’m now in a really weird place with my body. Both body image-wise from the bloating☹️, and from the way my periods interfere with my body. My periods are irregular, heavy, unbearable and often end with me throwing up or bed-bound for a few days. It’s certainly not normal to be feeling this immense pain every single month of my life so I’m hoping to find some answers this week to put my mind at ease🧠🤍 Over the past 3 months I’ve been avoiding the internet, as I’m sure most of us have been there, spiralling into a hole of self-diagnosing and wondering what’s wrong with me. To say I had high hopes is an understatement and y’all know how critical I can be ... but I loved it. I loved the character expansion, the exploration of healthy vs toxic relationships, the exploitation of the consequences of male lust on girls and women, and of COURSE all of the Korean mythology told both through lore and mythical characters. If you’re a fan of morally ambiguous characters and hate the trope in YA where the villain is 100% evil and the protagonist is 100% good, then you have to read this sequel. There is no such thing as a “bad” character and that’s one of the nine million things I loved about this book. It shows what many people are struggling to learn today - that no one is all good or all bad. That dichotomies of good and evil exist to dehumanize and dismiss others. But more critically, we use these dichotomies to convince our SELVES that we don’t have work to do. (“I cant be racist/transphobic/hurtful bc Im a GOOD person!”) 🎀📚This book explains why I don’t describe others or even my Self as “good” or “bad”. No one is so singular to fit into such a binary. NEW REVIEW- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo ⠀ 🎶and you know damn well, for you I would ruin myself, a million little times🎶 Illicit Affairs by Taylor Swift (just felt very apt for this book) ⠀ ⠀ OH GOD OKAY HERE WE ARE. I have put off posting this for so long because I just feel so extra but you know.. do it for the gram. I buddy read this with the lovely @numberslady_reads and I’ll admit I went into it sceptical for two reasons: how interesting can a fictional biography really be? Secondly, what if this doesn’t live up to the hype for me? Well here’s the answer to these two questions that loomed over me leading up to reading this. Taylor Jenkins Reid wrote a fictional biography so incredibly well that I kept forgetting Evelyn Hugo wasn’t a real person and it broke my heart every time I remembered. This book lived up to the hype without a doubt. Evelyn Hugo’s life is one that will stay with me forever, I laughed with her, I cried with her, I criticised her, I judged her, and ultimately though it wasn’t down to me, I forgave her. Taylor Jenkins Reid managed to bring a character to life, it felt as though I should be able to sit down and find Evelyn on Netflix, Evelyn should have 1 million google results and in my opinion, that is incredible writing to be able to bring a character to real to life. I could have read a 1000 page book on Evelyn, she really is just that interesting of a character. I loved the human dynamic between Evelyn and Celia, how messy, flawed and real it was. I loved the strong, comforting friendship between Harry and Evelyn and I loved that I had no idea what the ‘twist’ was until I was reading it. ⠀ ⠀ I love this book, I love Evelyn Hugo, I love Celia and I love the emerald dress that captures this book perfectly, and so I just had to wear my own. ⠀ ⠀ Thank you @booksandflatwhites for gifting me one of my favourite books of 2020 💖 - @livs_little_library on Instagram

I absolutely love my period-proof pants 💜 if you’ve haven’t tried them I def recommend! They’re so much more comfortable in comparison to plastic pads. My body does not exist to be a “before and after”, a “pose vs unposed” or an “insta vs reality”. My body exists as it is, to carry me through this crazy life. Some days I struggle to accept what my post-weight-gain body looks like but, when those days have passed, I am relentlessly grateful for everything my body does for me. It has seen me through 5 years of chronic migraines (where I’d often end up bed bound) and it continues to see me through living with anxiety, depression, PTSD and IBS. Together we’ve been through a lot. My body is for me, your body is for you. Our bodies are not for other people to dictate how we should look, what we should weigh or how we should live our lives. And there’s no shame in existing as we are, without feeling the need to show our “best selves” that are tensed and contorted to make ourselves seem smaller. In summary: my chubby rolls are fucking CUTE. And yes, I should’ve cleaned my mirror before taking this photo. The end. Cup 1/2 Full chats 🙃 Staying optimistic, inspired & on top of your sh*t might feel a little harder lately. Life is wEiRddddd right now; I find myself saying “what the heck has our world come to” almost daily. I have days where I feel stagnant, I have days where I feel unproductive, I have days where I feel like I am not doing enough and my anxiety is baddddd & I can’t pull myself out of the funk. BUT! I also have days where I feel organized & I am kicking ass + hopeful & excited for the future. The biggest difference in these two mentality’s?? 👇🏼 ~ it is a lot easier to have the cup 1/2 empty mentality. Feeling good + getting yourself to a place where you feel EmPoWeReD & motivated... that takes WORK. Sometimes that WORK, can be really f*cking hard ~ Here are a few daily practices I have been doing lately to remind myself that my cup is MORE THAN HALF FULL... & when I start to feel like it’s anything less I remind myself that my happiness is all in the hands of ME, MYSELF & I. 🙏🏼 Show gratitude for all that I have. 💖Remind myself that I have SO MUCH LOVE AROUND ME & that is enough within itself. 👊🏼Look back on where I was a year ago and say out loud “AUBRE, you have come so far. I am proud of you”. 💦Think about my SB community & how lucky I am to have cultivated such a supportive crew of women that I GET TO MOVE WITH every single day! 🌟Write down/think about my dreams & goals and a STEP I can take each every day to get closer to that. 💯Remind myself that is ALL GOING TO BE OK/WORK OUT as, it alwaysssssss does. I was crippled with anxiety all last weekend. Work was overwhelming me, people were overwhelming me, I was feeling bratty & honestly in a MEH PLACE and it was EASIER to stay in that place than it was so pick myself up & choose to be the bad ass / HAPPY / OPTIMISTIC / ENERGETIC BISH that I am 🙆🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️ It’s ok to have days and to not fee like your best self. Let’s talk about POTTY 🚽 TRAINING! Going to the potty 🚽 is a big milestone for kids and parents, but sometimes we start too early or we do not have the right strategy to approach this important milestone 🤔. As a psychologist I firmly believe in the strategy of rewarding a child for behaviors that I want them to continue to do, that’s called ✅ positive reinforcement, so for me this strategy was the right to train my kids. In this process I found a book 📖(Stress-Free Potty Training) that really helped me to understand my child personality which is my way to start, then I started to look for the setup which is the most important part. 🟩Is where the Potty Time Adventures Advent Game from @lil_advents plays a very important role. This calendar has a chart with 14 potty punch-outs that the child opens once a successful deposit is made, it has matching stickers that the child sticks on the chart to get the reward (positive reinforced)… 👀What is inside? Animal blocks 🐥🐔🐷🐮 and that’s even better because a child could use it after to play and motivate to do it again in order to have the next reward, after 30 successful deposits the behavior has been modeled and successfully trained that’s called positive training. I’ve received a lot of dms asking how to get an internship at NASA or Microsoft. Honestly, i don’t have an answer but thought I could share tips from my personal recruiting experiences during the past 3-4 years. But I do want to mention that if you are feeling overwhelmed and lost during recruiting season, I did too. It’s normal. I feel like it’s one of those things you kind of just figure out as you go. Howeverrrr, here are some tips I have that would have been helpful to me if I had known earlier! ⠀ 1. Apply EARLY. Like now. Especially due to the pandemic, there may be less headcount available. I know companies like Microsoft are starting their first round of interviews for university recruitment next week. The earlier you apply, the more chances you have of getting an interview. ⠀ 2. Update your resume. Resumes can be annoying to update but add any relevant experiments. Leave enough time to have people proofread it for you. Also, include key words from the job posting directly in your resume. ⠀ 3. If you have a close classmate or friend who is working at the larger companies you are applying to or has interned previously, ask them if they could potentially refer you. This will give you more chances of having your resume looked at. ⠀ 4. Keep your LinkedIn profile updated. Many recruiters are active and will reach out to you on this platform. ⠀ 5. Stay organized! I made a folder on my computer called (YEAR-recruiting). I kept all my cover letters , answer to application questions, list of skills, and relevant docs here. This saved a lot of time because you can reuse your stuff! ⠀ 6. I made a spreadsheet to keep track of when and where I applied. ⠀ 7. Utilize Glassdoor!
